Decent walking simulator / interactive movie. Kojima would be proud of this.

Nah.

A portal-like game with a good concept, however somewhat poorly executed. The idea is quite good, but you will most often end up solving puzzles by breaking the environment (yes, sometimes you do need to do it, but those that played the game will understand what I mean), rather than by putting together pieces of a a puzzle. The story was hit or miss as well.

If you want to play it, wait for an 80-90% sale.

Edit: kept playing and the performance keeps disappointing. With a 5070ti, 32gb ddr4, 12600k nvme, etc there are areas of the game where fps drop to low 40s with less than 50% gpu usage. The optimization is crap and this needs to be addressed

Some performance issues and poor optimization, however you can make do with DLSS. Get MGSdeltafix to unlock fps and fix ultrawidescreen. And there's also some mods to fix the horrendous camera.

Other than that, while the gameplay is a bit clunky, the game is quite fun and a good overall remake.

Having said this, I know in some regions the price is quite insane (60-80 usd). It is not worth it at that price, I would not advise to pay more than 20 usd for this or 30 if you are a big fan.

Forget all the fools calling this game woke and all the circus they did around it. 20 hours in and I have not seen any woke elements at all. The game is a decent continuation of KCD with some QOL upgrades. Storytelling and quests are equally good and the amount of gameplay seems huge.

Even though the game is playable, as many other players described, it's all over the place. The story is hectic, the main character is a douche, and the fighting mechanics are a mess. This is a cheap Bioshock clone, without it's grace.

Get it on sale or skip it

I kept skipping on getting this one as I felt I would not like it, and yes, a big fact were the pixel graphics. How wrong was I! The game is phenomenal in just about every aspect, but the story is kind of what keeps you playing more and more. It's really well narrated and the way they bring new elements along the (game) days, keeps you hooked.

I bought this game in the 2024 winter sale among other games, and after trying each of the games I bought, this was the one I could not stop playing. I devoured this game in 30-or-so hours, playing just about every single day since I bought it.

Give it a chance!

It's a 5-minute game. It's literally what it took me to "beat" it on my first try. There's no end-game. And no, this is not gonna solve your Inscryption itch.

It's a good concept, but a missed opportunity.

After finishing the game with completing the main story plus all side quests, including all NERO sites, ambush camps etc (except horde clearing) I can't recommend this game. The story is plain terrible, beyond what any cliché zombie post-apocalyptic story can go. It doesn't even make sense at most times. Then there's these repetitive quests and terrible AI. It's a waste of an open world as there's nothing much to do but the same camp cleaning crap, which gets old pretty fast. Lastly, there's an incredible huge amount of walking between cutscenes, which is plain ridiculous and poorly executed.

This is a fantastic game with very nice graphics (for a 2020 game). Gameplay is really engaging and the story is OK enough. NPCs are so-so. I really liked the way they made use of the map, having you explore it while going to do side quests and main quests, rather than asking you to do that yourself. You praticaly don't need to manually explore the map as it will be uncovered as you play the quests. This makes some of the repetitive side quests (a common flaw in sandbox games) less of a chore.

Amazing game, much like the predecessor. They fixed some of the annoyances there, while retaining the excellent gameplay and map design.

The only 2 things I dislike are the knife effect while sniping an enemy (why?!) and the enemy's dying sound when sniping from a distance (ridiculous to hear this at 50+ meters)
