Early Access Review
Overall extremely impressed and 10/10 for small groups. Over 4 people it depends on the group and how you intend to play.

Firstly it should be mentioned that this game is still EARLY ACCESS and its the first..2 days that its been out, there are going to be the occasional issue that still needs worked out.

With that in mind I've had games that i paid 3x the price for by AAA studios that came out less complete. For an early access game this already far better than what ARK or Valheim were when they first went into early access.

For the current pricing it's well worth. Combat is kind of souls like in that you need to fight a bit more on the cautious side if you arent using high ranged weapons from the high ground and of course manage your stamina.

Game mechanics wise i personally find this game significantly more enjoyable and less grindy than similar style games in that food and drinks do provide massive benefits but are far from required. You wont starve or die of thirst and the base stats you get from perks, and equipment can still leave you healthy enough to fights mobs that 3-5 levels over your character. Using food and drinks makes it more casual while not using them keeps the combat a little mroe souls like in that 2-3 hits will kill you. There are also perks and equipment that provide passive health regen as well so again you aren't gimping yourself by not using food buffs. Dying does drop your inventory but it doesnt drop what you have equipped or whats in your two hot bars, so keep the important stuff in those and anything worth losing in your bag.

Building, so far is pretty good. The snapping is a little finicky so getting stuff to line up perfectly can be difficult at first until you get the hang of it and will require a bit of pre planning if you want stuff to turn out perfect. Luckily you can turn off snapping to make stuff a bit more precise.

COOP issues were mentioned that quests are both tracked server side and individually so you need to communicate and play together if you plan on progressing together. Yes that is true to an extent. That being said if you just restart the server then all mobs respawn, including bosses, and all chests reset. There your quest progression is fixed. If youre playing by yourself or hosting for a friend, again just close the game and open it back up, all mobs will be reset, chests reset etc. Both running swords and you cant agree who gets the unique questbased sword that glows? Restart game and you both can have one.

Base limits, you absolutely CAN have more than 2 bases. You upgrade your flame level and your base limit goes up, pretty simple. For 16 person servers IDK, so far to me that sounds terrible and not fun but to each their own. Its going to probably require mods or some way to either tie flame strength to individuals or assigning flat numbers. Not to mention the map doesnt really seem large enough based on how youre supposed to progress through the regions to be hosting that many people that arent working together. 16 people working togetther though should be fine, the build areas from your alter go up as you level them and they get quite large. 16 people working together could get it leveled super quick id imagine just reset the server every 24 hours so that individuals that werent around previously can progress their quest line.

Phenomenal game that's simplistically complex. Simple in that the game is not difficult to pick up and learn. Complex in that you get to decide how you complete a mission. For the most part, when you're given a direction, its a suggestion. Dont wanna shoot your way in? Sneak. Dont wanna sneak? Get permission and walk in.
