Brawlhalla is a sensational 2D platform fighter game that delivers players one of the most addictive and intense fighting experiences out there. It comes with an immense roster of characters to choose from, tons of cool abilities to use and a really pleasing art style that many will enjoy.

Getting into Brawlhalla can be a tad difficult for newcomers because it’s a really fast-paced and highly competitive fighting game which means that it takes a bit of time to getting used to. You’ll need to learn the combos properly, memorize what character does what and things like that. Fortunately, the game makes the learning curve much easier thanks to its really well designed tutorial sequence that teaches players a ton of useful stuff regarding the game ranging from the absolute basics to some of the high quality maneuvers that you can pull off in your ranked games.

Brawlhalla isn’t your average fighting game. It’s more of a hybrid between platform and fighting genres. The elements of these genres combined make for a really engaging experience and a highly competitive one as well. Unlike a standard fighting game, you not only have to keep track of your own and your opponent’s characters but you also have to keep the environment in mind. Every single fighting arena in this game has its own terrain and features which means that you’ll have to adapt your play-style accordingly.

The different types of battle stages also make room for some interesting mind-games with character picking and counter picking as well because some fighters can excel at certain arenas but at the same time they can also be sub-optimal in other places. One of the most impressive features of this game is its balance. Despite the massive roster of characters, each and every one of them feels balanced. You’ll never feel overwhelmed by any specific character and the battles will always come down to who’s more skilled.

Alongside the standard one on one fighting action, Brawlhalla also has some extremely fight two vs two matches as well. It’s incredibly fun tagging along with a friend and completely dismantling your opponents but keep in mind that you need some really good synergy with your partner when going into 2v2 matches if you want to succeed.

Onto the visuals, Brawlhalla has some really excellent 2D graphics that pretty much everyone will enjoy. The character designs are solid, the color palette is perfect, the animations are super smooth, the special effects are amazing and overall there’s just a lot to like. The sound effects are top quality as well and make the experience more immersive.

The game is completely free to play which means that you can download it whenever you want and hop directly into all the action.
