Abandoned, could be an alright game

There is almost no tutorial, it was really confusing to setup anything. I played Mercenaries a lot and it got pretty good and intuitive UI.

It's been something like 8 years and still in early access.
Dev rationalizes this by saying "We are making perfection, which takes time".
Community is pretty meh because part of it is pretty toxic and gatekeeping, this comes from game being pretty challenging.
Development of this game is insanely slow and you just forget about it shortly after each update (in which you see little progress).
Devs also say that "it's their vision" (How hard this game is, no saving, type of controls etc), but it's just keeps a lot people away, because it's very long and stressful pixel hunting for keys there you can be killed pretty fast (even if it's not your fault (physics, controls etc)) and you can't save/load, so you usually ending up disappointed and feeling hollow looking at "You are dead" screen, knowing your character just wipes out (There is 1 checkpoint in the whole game right now and it's after few floors near portal, which is not helpful).
And these problems can be solved just by adding a difficulty setting, so you get "Intended difficulty" without saves, mini map (after getting map for current level) etc aka how Dev sees his product, and Easy there you can save your progress and go through the game like you know...in every other normal game, allowing people to play and enjoy this, even if you consider it "save scamming and not risky enough". And this game REALLY needs QoL features.
Because of those reasons I can't recommend this game to ANYONE
In short:
1. Feels like you will have grandchildren sooner than this game will be finished
2. Mostly you will get frustration because either you will search rooms for hours because you can't find the small key on the table in the corner in top down game, or going back to teleporter aka "after tutorial" because you die in later locations which erases hours and hours of progress.

Pretty basic and charming. Slow start, steep difficulty stages. Needs a big paid expansion with more content and refined mechanics. Or just a second game with everything more balanced, more graphics, more control of your units (maybe more Tower defense + RTS), more blueprints etc

Hell yeah i recommend this game. It's so chill and relaxing. There are almost no threat, just you in a system with nice artstyle and good sound design.

It's pretty fun first 6-8 hours
The story with Pit is cool, tho short
After that, it's just chores, especially the DLC, i'm forcing myself to go to these dozens of:
Eat 10 people
Time Trial (Wow, how original)
Eat some fish
Go kill the predator

You evolve pretty fast, so nothing really can stop you, i died only 1 time in the very beginning trying to kill alligator lvl 8 on level 2

The game visually looks average, i think the main reason is the lighting
Animations for special hunters are too cartoonish and feels really old
Shark itself and upgrades looks pretty good, love changing visuals on upgrades
And shark moves very smoothly, animation on land is pretty nice
Jumping tho is bizarre (Maybe on a gamepad it's better, but on keyboard jumping high in the air is frustration)

But, overall i honestly think this game could be great and awesome, but it's just "pretty good"
It could have:
Bigger world
More variety of secrets (and have cool perks and evolutions from collecting)
More variety of missions, less repeats
Greater visuals and animations
More polished and interesting combat (Right now you just getting swarmed with 70-100 lvl hunters, which is not hard to kill at all, it's just pressing a few buttons, for example you can just throw torpedos back at everything)
Maybe the other types of sharks? (Maybe giving birth to mutated baby, which will be different type of shark, and you need to grow again, idk) And each type have cons and pros it terms of speed, agility, mass etc
Synergy of different types of equipment? Like combos, different bizarre effects
Having stamina? Because right now you can just spam with a little cooldown, i think it will bring more tactical combat
This is all came right now to me, so, bye, tee hee

Bought this game in 2017 or something like that, played a few hours. And now i wanted to go back and play it (I remember it was alright)
And, well, you can't play it. Servers are shut down and there are no offline mode/single player.
I'm a little salty and sad to be honest. Who does stuff like that?

Oh, what a nice new staff with a suicidal combination of spells, i wonder what will happen if i just click....
YOU DIED

Very nice structured game, one of the best for playing co-op and very good to play with randoms too. Stylized graphics pretty cool. Upgrades are pretty interesting (Opportunities for builds included)
It's also very easy to come back to after a long period of time not playing, which is great too.
I was here from very early EA, Devs are great guys. Constant updates and balance fixes.
Overall- Satisfying.
