The base game despite being good is lacking in unfinished content, so many people play the Reforged Eden scenario which was created by a member of the community. This has had good support and worked for a very long time.

Meanwhile, the main devs have partnered with a known company known for milking games for all their worth whilst having an overall harmful influence on the product.

The latest DLC, which is ostensibly just a custom scenario, that should not cause major issue has actually introduced major breaking changes not only for the vanilla game but custom scenarios which dont even implement any DLC content. This has mod community overnight.

If this is what it is going to be like going forward, there can be no confidence from users that they are going to be prioritised. I have no confidence in the dev team behind the game.

This is a major shame as the game itself is great with alot of promise when played with Reforged Eden.

Long Time AC Fan - last played however was 2 / tiny bit of 3 emulated.

I want to like the game. Its a very good game, so still giving it a positive review. Outside of the following its the best entry I've played in the AC series.

That said the needless dark souls bosses are really killing the vibe. The pacing, so far, can feel absolutely awful.

Armored Core should not be Dark Souls, and its very worrying imho that it seems to have taken so much influence from that series. I hope those elements are dropped / removed going forward.

For context I came to this conclusion fighting Balteus where I had to really use a really min maxed cheesy tank build to outdps him.

I'm very worried the other boss fights are going to be overtuned messes like this that expect very very specific counter builds to make them not tedious. Will update as I go.

*EDIT* - I've grown to like it alot. There is alot of challenge in the game - i'd personally prefer slightly less boss encounters and more stronger 'normal' enemies. But it does hold up, and the above turned out yes - to be more an issue with build and my own playstyle.

Very solid mecha game, probably the best of this kind on PC at time of writing and can wholeheartedly recommend it now im nearing the endgame. The PVP is also surprisingly fun.

This game single handedly maxed out my t levels.

I've only played the game for a few hours and can already tell it is something very special.

Its not perfect, its indie, and its jank. So why am I recommending it?

Because its basically a cross between Evochron and Mass Effect. Probably the most fun game i've played since Freelancer and can be described as 'Star Citizen: Shoestring Budget Edition'.

All the gameplay loops are very fun and I personally find this game more engaging than X4. There is clearly alot of soul that has gone into it and combat feels very fun.

For the price its on sale for now its a no brainer. It doesn't have the same level of scale nor fidelity as Star Citizen, but it is close as you are going to get without having to suffer through a Derek Smart game whilst high on shrooms.

Don't listen to the abhumans elsewhere in the comments section, the games great.

Punishing early game rng ruins a great concept and framework - cannot see it getting any better because of the base.

Buy starsector instead.

Alot of people with trash hardware rating this down. What did you expect.

The game itself is very good, since first deux ex wanted a cyberpunk open world game. Well written, immersive, combat is solid with alot of good gameplay options.

It also feels very old school in some regards, again leave it to CDPR to actually create a great RPG.

Based and polish.

I've really been enjoying this series, watching it evolve and grow from chapter to chapter. Its really matured as of the last chapter, and I thought it was worth leaving a review. Saying more will likely spoil so ill try and keep away from particulars.

Its really well drawn, and the writing is done well. In lieu of valve doing anything again with their most important IP, these guys have given half life fans something of absolutely quality to enjoy that is impressive for a small team. Its good to be immersed in this universe again that was important to me and i have alot of nostalgia for.

It was also a great idea to get it published on steam - and they've proven the format works. For the price you really cannot go wrong, you can pick up the first few chapters for the same price as a few pints.
