So having played chasm pretty much all the way through ill tell what i think

The bad:
Controls are slow and unresponsive
Levels are badly generated
Items do not drop when they are useful anymore
Last boss has stupid save point
Little to no story
Dumb beast achievement

The good:
Graphics style is great
80's to 90's like game play
Requires very little hardware

So this requires the player to journey to small mining town investigate the townspeople disappearance and why this towns mines are filled with monsters. That is it that is the story in fill because you can already fill in the blanks. The monsters are here to destroy the world and you need to defeat the grand monster behind it. So having little to no story is the first problem as there is no real side missions beyond one. No but this is the reason just insert evil monster and you get the idea.

All of this would not be a problem as many other games could be summed up as such but its core game play is basically designed to be a retro like game. So it suffers from this, you will hit a key on the keyboard for no action to be taken, when jumping, fighting basically anything. This is deliberate apparently the original game it is trying to mimic did this, so as such you need to time everything to the pace that this game wants you to play at.

When talking about level generation for a open world game like minecraft, terraria etc. random generated maps are great. They let the played explore a map that is different, they allow for a fresh gameplay experience every time. They allow the player to create there experience etc. you get the idea. Now with a linear game i.e. one that is meant to be played from start to finish once and then shelved this is horrible. Just looking up a guide on the web i can tell you that my map to at least 30% smaller when filled in. It has bugs like one part of the map required you to submerse your character in lava to fill in the map blank. The maps look bland because its all just copy and paste. This map would of been 100% better if the developers had taken the time to create a map. They could of placed the save points at better locations, made monsters at better spots, made items that are hidden in more inventive locations etc. etc.

As for the items drop this really not well designed, some of the items are locked behind the requirement to defeat the games bosses without getting hit. This can be done for most players with a few hours of practice to get bosses attack moves memorized then develop a technique to fight them and finally maybe get a little lucky. But there is little to no reason beyond these weapons to do this and all it does is just make this game longer. besides the strongest weapon in the game is not unlocked this way.
Then you get to the minerals drop, which is once again not done very well at all. The best metal in the game is not dropped and thus cannot be used until you are almost one or two rooms away from the final boss and besides the metal at this late stage of the game crafts items that are worse then the ones you properly already have.

The final boss is located from the final save point after about half a section of map. So you are simply forced to get to him wait around for you character to heal before taking him on every single time. This means that assuming that you need to heal with the healing amour on its going to take you about 20 mins every time. Because of this you strategy will probably just end up being buy ♥♥♥♥ loads of potions and use then every time you health gets low. Which for a boss that has as many attacks as the last one has is a real disappointment. Unfortunately it also leaves you with very little to think hey i just completed this game and that last boss was hard but fair. Good game.

Finally the game forces you to kill every single monster like 15 times over even if its not encountered very offen. Once again this could of been fixed with non generated map.

The GOOD:

You will probably get alot of fun out of this title if you played the original game this is inspired by. I personally have not and as such DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING OR PLAYING THIS GAME.

Please find another game to play. You will have much more fun then playing through this mess of a game.

Very good, game with dark humour galore!

This game is a point and click game the same style as many others but with older controls and less intuitive interface. It plays alot like a old flash game because this is simply this studios oldest game. The follow up is alot better done but story wise you will not find anything a miss here and it fact acts a pre-story for the follow up.

I would recommend this game in its full to anyone that has played a telltale game or just likes a short stoy with alot of impact.

Now that they have finally removed Oracles java from this game and moved to unity i could not recommend this game more at this time.

Great game to a point but it suffers from what almost all other indie games suffer from. This game is brilliant for the first four levels, they are hard and challenging but then after you finish these levels, you get these stupidly hard mirror levels. Why? Because the game found a community that kept playing and became masters so they just kept developing, so like almost all other indie games these levels are designed for people that spend years playing one game. What is so disappointing is this game would be perfect if they took the bosses out of the mirror levels, but as it stands it is next to impossible for the average player to ever 100% complete this game.

Fun little game that plays alot like harvest the moon. Having only played harvest the moon on SNES i will not make any comparison between the two titles. If you like the farm, monopoly, RPG type titles this maybe just up you alley.

Hue is a wonderful game with, great puzzles that can get difficult at times. It makes you play with colours, swapping them in and out to forge a path ahead. This is a great game to pick up and play

Because i don't a phone capable of playing the lastest games, This is a pretty good hack and slash, the next one in the series is probably better, But i don't own it. Never liked Diablo but can play this game for hours, Dungeon siege is comparable to this. I would recommend this game if you played Dungeon siege, Evil Islands or Diablo and liked them.
