while 'missed messages' had pretty visuals and a nice soundtrack, i found the overall message/moral rather inaccurate or questionable. the game had left a bad taste in my mouth.

with the ending 'missed', you're told that you could've saved your friend, had you ignored your own life and focused on hers. you're made to believe that it was in fact your fault that she committed suicide, which is a dangerous, guilt-tripping message to be sending. as someone who's lost close friends and family to suicide, i was left feeling incredibly uncomfortable.

i understood what was trying to be said, but overall it was just came off as icky and tasteless. it enforced the idea that mentally-ill individuals need saving, or the idea that you could 'save' someone simply by spending some time with them or by ignoring your own life to help theirs. that you're a 'hero' and that it's your fault if you're unable to help someone, when that's just not the case. i have nothing against the creator, but i found that the game poorly tackled a serious subject.
