2k broke the game.
First it introduced a privacy-breaking launcher, that no one asked for. And years after reaping data, they removed it and the game won't launch anymore. Even on Linux it is giving me problems. ♥♥♥ em

I cannot bring myself to recommend this game after the last weeks that have been a ****show.

The game costs €50, or €90 for an ultimate edition. With that price-tag, you expect an almost triple AAA experience and a fully completed game. What you get instead is being a kickstarter donor for a game that has not been fully released and you have access to a beta stage of the game, that is it.

Almost everyone has touched on the performance issues, so I will skip that - as well as other visual stuff that is concerning but I will assume that you have eyes and can see them.

I want to talk about malpractice and my breaking point with this game. Every week, Colossal Order (the devs) release a statement regarding the future of the game (aka Damage control, this would not be necessary if the release simply was alright). Modding support, which would be available "shortly after release" is now, as of January 2024 - 3 months after release:


" 1 Public Beta version of code modding and Paradox Mods will be available in the live build by the end of March
2 Public Beta version of Map editing available in the live build together with code modding or soon after
3 Public Beta version of Asset editing to be announced, only after the technical issues are sorted can we roll out the tool
4 Continue to work on the modding support and get out of the Beta stage during the Finnish fall."

This kind of stuff has been going on for a while, things are delayed and delayed and delayed again. The game is not a "deep simulation" it is a city painter. Land value is broken, cargo is broken, taxation and the economy in general are pure fantasy...
No mods in the near future (there are some ways to mod the game, I know but that's people going out of their way and reverse engineering the game because nothing official is available. They have no ETA on bugs and performance fixes, seem primarily concerned with modding and the editor which isn’t set to be ready until March.

They knew the state the game was in and still decided to roll with it



Steam rejected my refund request, so I'm stuck with this in my library, but don't be like me, be better.

No me puedo creer que la gente sea tan corta y deje una reseña negativa porque no le funcionan sus mods. La expansión no lleva casi nada fuera y eso es cosa de los creadores de mods que lo actualicen, que muchos en menos de 1 día ya estaban en orden.

Drama aparte, instantáneamente es una de las expansiones que debes tener si o si en el juego, y por fin da solución a lo que muchos queríamos hacer. La implementación podría ser mejor, la verdad que exista un nuevo tipo de zona, que no se pueda superponer a los parques de Park Life, y tenga que estar dentro de un distrito normal para implementarle x políticas pues es un poco tedioso. Eso y que bueno, como es Paradox con absolutamente todo, me parece que vale 5 e incluso 7€ demás aunque no me quejo porque suele haber rebajas y a los meses encuentras las expansiones tiradas de precio en webs de keys

Puede haber otras quejas o bugs, soy el primero con cosas que objetar, pero dejar una reseña negativa porque tus mods no vayan porque el código ha cambiado pues es un poco xD

Mucha autopista, demasiada, pero sigue siendo mi Españita y hay mucha atención al detalle, ya podían ser las autopistas de otros DLCs así

Para qué pagar un psicólogo cuando esto es terapia y droga a la vez

Si te gusta Civ, compralo.

Ideal para cuando tienes que esperar y quieres jugar algo rápido. Super entretenido
