Early Access Review
Haven't touched the game in some time and had two friends invite me to play again the other day. I'm gladly changing my review to positive now due to the addition of the Easy difficulty so that our time to find the door and amount of lives is unlimited. It makes the game so much less stressful at the parts that absolutely irritated me because of the enemy AI being impossible to avoid death on. I'll leave my previous review up for the sake of .. idk really. History? So people can see the developer(s) listened? Just doesn't sit right to outright delete it. But anyways, yeah, definitely recommend it now that there's different difficulty options, Easy being the one you can use to simply relax and enjoy some spoops without the stress of losing 3 - 5 hours of your gameplay towards the end because of a monster AI that is too difficult to kite.

BELOW THIS POINT IS MY OLD REVIEW AND MY CONCERNS I FEEL HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED THUS FAR
----

SPOILERS AHEAD

What killed all of my fun I even had in this game was the party part. We literally had ONLY the party thing left to do and lost ALL our lives there (and we were all at 7 lives left-ish). It is absolutely the worst and most stressful thing I've experienced next to platform games. You literally have no time to collect what they want you to collect before the Partygoer spawns in - and you have to do it 3 times for each round they throw at you. Three rounds of balloons, sure, simple enough. Three rounds of presents - took me like 40 minutes (could have been longer) starting from stage 2, because everyone died at that point. At stage 3, by the time the timer ran out, I only found 1 box. Candles? Didn't take long, but I still died twice because of how hard the lines are to make out and the Partygoer just ignoring the walls. Honestly they should just glow in the dark because all you do is waste time trying to get the flashlight you NEED from your loot. THEN when you finally do all three candle stages, they time you to get to the cake. I literally died as I picked up the key card just because he happened to be right behind me still. Sounds fair. THEN they time you to escape. Died my last death there because of wasting seconds trying to get my briefcase which was under the chair at the cake table for my flashlight. And with both of those last two steps (getting to the cake and getting to the exit), the Partygoer B-Lines for you at max running speed, which is what makes the part difficult as f**k - if he frolicked around the way he did for the candles part, it'd be more tolerable - also, this is all within a dark room where you have to still navigate your way through a tight maze that has invisible walls and God forbid you have to waste precious seconds trying to look for your briefcase at your feet in the absolute dark to get your flashlight because without it you can't see the dang lines for the invisible dang walls. And even with more people, I feel it's just as bad because you're all dying non-stop because of the Partygoer because someone is always going to happen to be near it.

- My Recommendations / (not all have to be done)

+ Make the red lines glow so you don't have to waste time trying to get your flashlight if you die.
+ Make it so he can't go through those damn invisible walls because there's specific corners in the maze where if he happens to see you, you're just f**ked and there is nothing you can do.
+Make him not b-line sprint at you at the last two parts of the party and just keep him frolicking.
+ Custom game settings so you can have an infinite number of lives and also be able to customize the time you have to find your door. (I legit game over-ed because my heart beat never went off and I explored the whole map).

Honestly, the Custom Game Settings would be all I'd ask for - because then at least I can die as many times as it happens in those party parts without worrying. Literally all we needed was that red card and we would have been finished. It's frustrating spending HOURS of your night and being RIGHT at the end and lose ALL that progress because of some bulls**t enemy AI and pathing.
