Sorthious, I do have a copy of Future Pinball I downloaded about 6y ago (still the latest, officially, anyway). It seemed like an incredible "upgrade" to one of my first pinball simulators, Bill Budge's Pinball Construction Set (C64), but I was never able to get Future Pinball to work right with a controller. Tried again in response to your comment, but I don't think I even was able to get the game to start. Could get the table to nudge, but the flippers wouldn't flip. I tried following some of the links from the official site, but most are dead (including the forums where I was hoping to look for info on the controller). Is there a current source you I should look at?

I hear ya. I have time now that I didn't have before and I love the nostalgia of Pinball and old Arcade Video Games. You ever use/hear of Future Pinball? I have a few machines on that, including Whirlwind, it's an old Pinball Sim, but the games are really good. I'm using Linux, so I had to run it through Wine, but it's made for Windows. You should check it out!

@Sorthious, I definitely have more games than time these days! (Hurrah for the one-ball mode in FX3... makes it easier to play a little bit for a "coffee break.) A large number of these titles are from early Humble Bundles and collections like that.

Heya Dave, thanks for the invite! Hope to see ya in game. Man you have a lot of games! I have tons myself, but most are through emulators or are on CD's from way back when. I don't have many on Steam though.

Being disabled, Steam is pretty much my world. Not to seem pathetic, simply that I preceive Steam differently from most people, I imagine.
To me, Steam friends are REAL friends (if not IRL friends.)

No apology needed... I've reenabled logging in to friends/chat when I log in and took the time to dig in and tweak the notification settings. Thanks for the prompt :-) I had presumed it was just a new thing I was opting out of, not a combination of a new thing plus an old thing I was turning off.

Ah, that's probably it. I signed out of "friends and chat" because I found it too distracting.

Interesting... I'm looking at my profile right now and it says "Last online 64 days ago." I wonder if it's because I ignored their new friends chat feature?

Oddly, when I look at your "box" in my list of friends, it says you've been away from Steam for many weeks.
But on your profile page, now that you point it out, I see differently.
Sorry to pry, but I know some on Steam are a bit isolated, and perhaps I become ovely concerned.

Thanks but I'm good enough, Foofaraw. Sorry-but-appreciative to be a source of concern. Must be some bug in whatever you're looking at in Steam as I just finished playing a little Pinball FX. I've been enjoying their Williams tables and trying (with a little success) to get my scores in their original Tesla game not quite so pathetic. Haven't been looking at Pinball Arcade or Zaccaria forums much lately. But it's true, looking at my Steam logs, this semester has been busy enough I'm down to about 15-20 minutes a day for pinball. Ah, well... maybe this will be the time I create course materials I like well enough to not redo again and again. Meanwhile, thank you, but I'd better get some grading done!

Don't worry, foofaraw; it's all relative. I'm usually only in the middle on the friends' leaderboard and rarely in the top thousand except on unpopular or very new tables.
