After all the hours I put in, I understand why some people don't like this game. Its not flashy or exciting. Its not a game built around action, or a story. Its a game built around discovery, and freedom. I love just signing on to do whatever I want....go from planet to planet and see whatever I want. Build bases whereever. Help people whereever. Its a game to log in and play when I want to zone out and not really pay attenttion to what I'm doing, like the nature documentaries I put on in the background when I busy with actual work. I love this game. Its right up my alley.

Theres something about this game that keeps me coming back again, and again. And its not just the fact that its still being updated with content after five years.

There's something about Terraria that just feels special. I can load up a new world and make it look like however I'd like it to. I can make dirt holes into houses. I can make tree houses, light houses, castles, winter cabins, asian pagodas, underwater science stations, pirate ships, blimps, wizard towers, fishing huts, and any other home that exists outside of this list.

I can invite others into these houses and customize each one for them. A bankers vault for the Merchant, medical facility for the nurse, shady cantina for the arms dealer, or a party club for the resident party girl. Or I can make them live in dirt holes in the ground.

I can create a new character and outfit them however I choose. They can dress up for halloween, wear cool armor, or run around as any number of birdmen.

I can speed run through the obstacles laid before me. Or take my time, and invent a whole new world to build a storyline around. Or I can hide in dirt holes in the ground.

I can do whatever I want in Terraria. And I can do it at my own whimsical pace. And it makes me want to come back again and again and again. If you haven't joined me already, I'd highly suggest doing so.

Come make your own dirt holes, and fill them with whatever your heart desires.
