I am a massive fan of the lore and first person shooters. So when I heard about an fps space hulk game where you board an infested giant lump of spaceship, I was so excited. The Enhanced Edition is the game we should have gotten in the first place, 80% of the bugs were wiped out and the optimisation was miles better. Although I have mixed feelings about it, I keep coming back for more.

Pros: 10
-Decent visuals, lighting is pretty good
-The detail on the maps is incredible, even just little things like prayer seals on the side of control panels!
-Your character feels heavy and beastly, you are a walking tank after all
-Weapons do more justice to the lore than any other 40k shooter
-Enemy numbers and approaches are unpredictable, unlike Alien Isolation
-Voice acting is fantastic, I wish there was more of it in-game
-Varied maps and decent map design
-Multiplayer squad mechanics are pretty good. E.g spawn on team mates rather than previous checkpoints. Encouraging team play and sticking together
-Nice damage model, limb damage and associated effects like fallout
-Decent customisation, ood variation of classes that can compliment each other, just a tad too on-rails for me but it is better than most

Cons-: 9
-Gameplay is extremely repetitive
-As a result, it can seem really grindy
-You earn in-game currency at a snail's pace adding to the grindy feel
-Friendly AI is Aliens: Colonial Marines level retarded. Avoid single player! They get in the way and are a chore to lug around, they also contribute pretty much nothing to the purging of xeno scum
-The story, while present, is basically an afterthought. It is used as the most basic excuse for motivation to complete objectives. You pretty much just go there, collect that, press that button, close that door, reach this point, etc.
-Absolutely 0 character development, no reason to care or get emotionally involved with any part of this game. Even L4D had more compelling & deep characters. The story is just flat and the characters are just there to customise and shoot stuff, nothing more.
-Multiplayer server situation is abysmal, it's all done by hosting. Host leaves? Bugger off.
-You also loose any rewards if you don't complete a mission or the host disconnects. This can lead to many wasted hours, making you regret playing
-Finding a game can be difficult sometimes and the single player is no substitute, leaving me to often just go and play insurgency or battlefield 4

Even with all these negatives, I would still buy it again. With some friends or even just strangers, it is incredibly fun and a great way to feel like part of the grim dark of the far future. I can only hope the devs continue to work on it and fix some of these terrible flaws. However, it is a gem in the rough. There's tons of potential and great times to be had.

As a result, I would recommend it thoroughly. It isn't perfect but it's the best shooter the 40k world has had in years and we should send the message that this game is a step in the right direction. Lord knows GW and the dev will take some convincing.

I was expecting a great looking, open-worldish, sniper shooter. Instead I got a linear restricted and buggy experience. The fact that it was made in cryengine seems to mean nothing as its textures remind me of early cod. However as a casual shooter with no care for deep story or customisability, it isn't too bad. The sniping is realistic, bullet drop and wind correction are amazingly accurate and the constant changing of vantage points give you motivation to take down as many targets as possible so you are clear to move. It also has a slight crysis 1 / far cry 3 feel at times which can create a sense of comfort every now and then.
