The game is not finished. Simple as that. It's buggy, there's very little to actually do in the city besides side quests, and ultimately this isn't even an RPG. It's a middling action game with a stat & conversation system.

This is not a RPG. This is not a Fallout game. It is a shooter that has the aesthetics and recognizable names/factions of Fallout, but is so warped that I barely recognize my favorite series anymore.

The shooting is fun and the design has clearly improved from Fallout 3's first attempt at bringing the world of Fallout to 3D, but this is a soulless husk that is wearing Fallout's skin. It's an insult to fans of the series, and I hate that I spent money on it. I played through the entire base game, but haven't touched it or any of the DLC since release.

I've spent a combined 200 hours on this game in Steam and Origin. It's a good video game.

Most of the DLC is just filler and adds stuff to the workshop/settlements which I barely used in the first place. Far Harbor is okay, but not enough to make up for the whopping $50 price tag. I got this item at a hefty discount before Fallout 4 released (before Bethesda jacked up the price), and even at such a large discount I regret the purchase. As a long-time Fallout fan this season pass, and the main game itself, is an incredible disappointment.

Solid story with better combat mechanics than the first Mass Effect. Most of the characters are engaging and interesting to speak to, and their loyalty quests flesh out the characters and world in numerous ways. This is also one of the few games where I would recommend purchasing the DLC, because it's pretty darn good. The final mission is great.

The New Order is a great shooter with surprisingly strong storytelling chops. The characters are intriguing and flawed in their own ways, and B.J. Blazkowicz feels surprisingly human despite being a basically immortal ass-kicking machine. The primary antagonists are nazis, so they are easy to hate and you don't have to feel bad about melting their faces off with a giant laser like you might if they were a different, not-nazi enemy. This is a game that revels in violence and mayhem, celebrating your own unique approaches to nazi murder. Some areas are tough as hell and might require a different approach to get through alive, but failing for the 1000th time doesn't feel frustrating because playing the game is so damn fun. Finally beating a difficult bit is extremely satisfying because you worked hard to achieve it. Weapons are a pleasure to use and killing nazis never gets boring. As a cherry on top, the game looks stunning in motion as well.

Thankfully, The New Order doesn't take itself terribly seriously. Nobody ages a day in the 14 years between story points, you can dual wield assault rifles and shotguns, the nazis have a base on the moon (at which you can murder them in waves), and you can sleep in a certain bed to have nightmares about playing the original Wolfenstein 3D.

Only disappointing part is that one of the boss fights about 3/4 through the game is pretty boring and not as challenging as the rest of the game. Most of the other bosses are pretty challenging and interesting to fight, though.

An excellent game with great atmosphere. The story and RPG elements definitely weaker in this than in other Fallout games, but the characters and locations often make up for those deficiencies. The game does not run well on Windows 7 and later without community fixes, but it is relatively easy to find these if you have a working brain and an internet connection.

Good game. The shooting is basic but the crime-solving elements are what make this game worth a try.
