Thanks Sony for taking back your decision. I hope this teaches a lesson to you and your execs in realizing how quickly you can kill the good will of fans and players.

So yeah, play this game, it good.

I'm gonna be frank with you on this.

You will likely have questions while playing this. Those questions will likely not be answered.

I pretty much want to call it a Zen like experience. This is not a game to put too much thought into. It is something to feel, something to experience as you play it.

Easily worth the money I put into it.

I played the original Startopia, and it shocked me that it would get a spiritual successor after so many years.

Is it rough around the edges? Yes, but it plays well and I find myself enjoying the game, probably more so than most I've played recently. Its aesthetic no doubt coming from a different team with a different design philosophy to it which works well in my opinion(It helps that unlike the last one, this is a setting that isn't recovering from a post-apocalyptic galactic war, so its going to be more lighthearted and colorful). I adore the number of quality of life changes made from the previous game. The overall design of the various facilities and their functions are really nice and while it may not appeal to the more hardcore fans of the original, I can safely say this earned the Startopia name.

I look forward to its future and the developers as I have no doubt that from it, we can expect some good content in the future.

EDIT

I guess I was stupidly optimistic about the devs. They dropped this game it seems.

This is arguably the best version of Dominions. Its art is more refined as is alot of its features and game design. While it largely retains the same nations with only a few additions, I am none the less impressed by how far this series has come.

Make no mistake, this is not a casual strategy game. If you want to learn to play it you must be willing to sit down, play, learn the games in and outs, and ultimately be ready to lose. But once you get through the hurdles and have a good idea of how to play the game, you will find it is a game unlike any other. I can think of no other God game that is like Dominions that involves you gathering armies of various units of various nations, summoning ungodly creatures to serve you, wreak untold devestation on your enemies with magic, and conquer the world and become its sole God.

This game will kick your ass. It will have a learning curve thats rather high, and you will need to learn micromangement. But holy crap, when you learn, when you endure, you will find this to be one of the best strategy games out there, with awesome factions, great God/Pretender designs based on real world mythologies, and gameplay. The pain will be great, but the rewards far greater.

I recommend this for anyone whose up to playing a rather unique strategy game of conquest and deicide.

The graphics are not the best, but its game play and setting carries it! I personally feel that the playstyle of the game leaves it open for the player to have their own play style. Fans of the Lovecraft Mythos and roguelikes surely would enjoy this!

Writing reviews not my thing so I'll keep this short and sweet. It remains faithful to the original and yet still is able to change it up. it is a good and even challenging TBS and does a good job in customizing your hero. With two good expansions/dlc that adds more races and the newest one adding a new class all together, this is a great choice for a fantasy strategy gamer.

The game has some issues running on a newer issue(Mostly in the starting up process), but get over that and its fine. Hopefully they will update it, since they loaded up a Windows 7 compatiable version of the original game.

Anyway, if you played Heroes of Might and Magic, your KINDA in for a similar experience, but with multiple differences. To call it a "Heroes Clone" would be inaccurate at best. You can level up your heroes, yes, but you also level up your units. Instead of producing hordes of units, your leveling up one unit, making keeping them alive more important. Even a low level unit like a cultist can level up and become a true tool of doom.

All and all, I recommend this, but be careful if your running it on a newer system.

I honestly thought this was a RTS/Strategy game. Turns out I was wrong.

Its not bad for what it is, but MOBAs are going to be like Modern warfare shooters and WoW clones. A fad that will break.
