I have only done a few Space Marine attempts on medium difficulty so take that for what it is worth.

To keep it simple, the game is horribly balanced (unit-to-unit). For instance on medium difficulty you would need 2 Tactical Space Marines to take 1 Necro Warrior and there is a good chance you will lose one of your units.

The problem is that as the AI the necro warriors have more health than your Tactical Space Marine, do the same amount of damage, and if you get them low they just heal right up to almost full so you need at least 2 units to take one of them. They never travel solo either so forget that. All of their units seem to have heals which makes it impossible to defeat them it seams.

I haven't run into any of the other factions yet even though the match was set up for one of each, so I cannot tell you how the balancing works there.

I'll give this game a bit more of a chance on easy to see if perhaps the balance is a bit more even.

This is a very difficult game to learn how to play as the tutorials aren't really that great but once you do it is quite fun and can be played in totally different ways. The only other gripe I have is that some of the missions are broken still or there isn't enough information to finish them. These issues should have been fixed by now but they still persist and are annoying (but not game-braking) until you learn which missions to avoid. I would still recommend this game though to any space-sim lover and even those that like empire management and building games.

This is a great game! I can't wait for the third one (no doubt one will come).
