Really amazing hidden gem. I'm reviewing and uploading tons of pictures hoping those in my friends list will be attracted and try this out.
Story is a bit meh at first but gets way better the more you progress.Gameplay, environment, little details, soundtrack, voice acting = all are super great.

You should definitely give this a go if you're into story rich single player RPGs!

I enjoy the game but I mostly treated it as a standalone game - it has little connection to the previous games and it does not care about your choices in said previous games.

TL;DR - meh game that is designed with younger players in mind and doesn't bring a whole lot to fans of the first 3 games. Best parts of the game for me were the first couple of hours (intro) and final 3 hours (ending) thanks to the good writing, acting and fights.

Pros:
- Combat is pretty fun on normal difficulties and at mid to higher levels (nightmare difficulty = super long fights because the enemies have a ton of HP, they don't get more complex, just more tedious | at low levels you are too squishy, it feels a bit unbalanced - depends on the build you play with, you'll have to respec several times)
- The world is beautiful
- There are awesome dragons
- Pretty amazing lore reveals
- Some QoL improvements have been made (it's easier to know where to go, where there are quests to be accepted, companions with important things to discuss)

Cons:
- Companions are pretty boring
- They made a very hard to like non binary character - this was way better done in DA:I and it didn't feel forced
- You are forced to recruit all of the companions, you lose the freedom of turning some down
- You have limited RP options when it comes to your dialogue and choices, you are forced to play a nice person - all dialogue options are variations of yes / positive or supportive replies
- You are required to complete a ton of companion quests in order to get a good ending
- The villains are pretty boring (we want to destroy everything because we want to destroy everything - very interesting)
- The companions are useless in fights unless you use their active abilities to perform combos; they deal next to no damage on their own and don't use abilities on their own; you can finish the entire game on your own pretty much.
- Qunari design changes just turned them into humans with horns.
- A lot (and I do mean A LOT) of the dialogue is cringe - a lot of teenager slang and stupid humour and out of place comments.
- Overall everything feels dumbed down, from combat to achievements, dialogue, consequences, companions, exploring, etc.
