Not sure what I expected for a $0.69 game but..

I mean the game looks good and it plays decent but the thing that kills it for me is that the AI voice over is terrible. Like, truly terrible. I'll still likely play it but marking do not recommend based solely on the AI.

13 hours in. I haven't finished the campaign yet but it's been entertaining. Story is the best part so far. Gameplay wise, it's not ground breaking in any way but I don't regret the $60 I spent on it the day before it came out. I would probably feel less good about it if I had paid $80.

Performance has been fine for me mostly holding 90+fps at 1440 with DLSS set to Quality and Frame Gen on. Everything but shadows is set to the highest but I always turn shadows down a notch in all games.

If the weird depth of field is throwing you off, find the line in the .ini that says:

bDepthOfFieldEnabled=True

and set it to False. No clue why they forced this setting.

IMO, ALL games should have basic settings like mouse sensitivity. Even lowering my mouses DPI as low as it will go the sensitivity is through the roof. That combined with the motion blur that doesn't have a toggle makes the game unplayable for me. I couldn't get past the first few minutes without the movement making me nauseous.

Performance wise, at least in the little I saw was fine on highest settings.

Sadly, I have no clue or comment about the rest of the game. Shame because I like games like this. Thanks for letting me try it. Hopefully this is sorted in the future and I'll revisit.

This game is a blast. It's silly and over the top and it's just fun. That's why we play games right?

I experienced 2 bugs while playing:

- Sometimes you pick up a throwable and you can't throw it. You have to drop it and pick it up again to be able to throw it. Not game breaking. Just annoying.
- Audio cutting in and out that increases in frequency until going out completely. This only happened on the pirate level. This happened twice on the same level after a game and PC restart. I have footage if a dev were interested.

These two things aside the game is a ton of fun and I can easily recommend it.

I lose 99.9999% of the time. I've won one game in 3 hours. If you want to be a loser like me, play this game.

I am really enjoying my time with the game so far. So many fun things to be seen but the crafting mechanic is my favorite thing. The rarity of the items you use to craft determine the stats and appearance of your craft. If you craft something with common items then come back to your forge with some higher rarity stuff, you can swap it out to improve your craft AND get your old mats back!

I hope to see some adjustment to how wild the camera can get when your hanging on to a flying or rapidly moving creature and I would like to see a little balance in the damage over time and area of effect parts of the game as they can stack up real quick sometimes Those two things are my only real gripes and not at all game breaking to me.

I hope people don't sleep on this one. It's good.

Leaving my original review below but amending some things to reflect the latest update.

Performance seems to be better when in the vicinity of one of your pawn shops at night. I originally thought it was the skybox as it only happened in Blueberry but after buying AND upgrading the other two shops, the same thing was happening. Now though, instead of frames dropping to 20-25 from 165 they only dip to just above 60 which it MUCH less jarring to the eyes. Stacking is still janky and I suspect it will always have a level of uncertainty to it. It's not the end of the world but it is annoying and stressful when it's 7:45am and your truck just exploded it's contents on the ground and you have 15 in game minutes before it all goes poof. Sure, I could manage my time better in game but it would be nice to not have to worry about it at all.

ORIGINAL REVIEW

I'm still playing this but I do not recommend it right now. It starts out fun and chill but you reach a certain point in hard mode where the NPC's abuse the fact that they have unlimited money and you either lose the auction because they're paying $1000 more than anything in the unit is worth or YOU pay way more than the unit is worth and lose money. It's a painful loop.

I can look past the weird bouncy stacking physics that will make the contents of your truck bed explode into the air when putting a piece of paper on it, and I can look past the fact that something in the town of Blueberry (skybox) makes your frames drop to 20 at nighttime regardless of your hardware or settings but the balance in hard mode needs to be addressed, IMO.

There is a ton of potential and there's a good bit to do considering it's EA but it needs to cook some more.

As a 40+ year Indy fan, I can't find a single solitary thing wrong with this game. It's a love letter to Indiana Jones. They did the franchise so much justice. It's beautiful. I highly recommend checking it out. It is pretty demanding when it comes to hardware requirements so be aware of that.

I'm on a 7800x3d, 64gb DDR5 6000 and a 4080. The ray trace patch isn't out until Monday so we'll see how that effects performance but I have been well over 140 fps running 1440p on a mixture of Ultra and Super Ultra settings (there are 2 settings higher than ultra..lol) The game does have frame gen in DLSS but I haven't needed it. Been running DLSS on Quality with no scaling.

This game was a pretty good time. Some annoying camera angles aside, I enjoyed it. Hope to see some voice acting at some point.
