As a former XvT player back in the MSN Gaming Zone days....this is a good game. It's missing some of the magic from the old days, you don't really get the epic multi capital ship chaotic battles of the before times with the Fleet Battle mode, but this game plays as slick as I remember XvT playing back in the day, and I had a MUCH simpler flight stick back then.

Problem is...same with almost everything EA touches...the player base is near dead. The story mode is ok, but because it's EA this game wasn't given the attention it could have been given to end up a new classic. I am sad I didn't play it more back when it first released, but that's a personal problem.

Still, even if I can't get matches, it's fun to come back to this and tear around the practice stage re-living my old glory days. If you're looking to play this Multiplayer, I can't recommend it...and sadly that's MOST of what this game is here to offer. What little I did play of it when the player numbers were up was super fun and exciting, but unless this game gets a strange second wind I don't see it being worth it to purchase.

I'm still gonna give it a thumbs up, though, because I don't have the heart to do otherwise. Come back to me, XvT. Come back to me, Squadrons. Let me re-live my days in Fox Squadron playing tournaments through MSN.

Do not get this game. You will be lost to the wash, lost in the sauce, lost to the power of pressurized water. The filth, sluicing away in disgustingly perfect lines revealing the pristine perfection beneath is something you cannot resist, something that cannot be denied. Each *DING* propelling you onward into absolute cleanliness, bringing you closer to Godliness than you have ever DARED to imagine is a trap that will sink its hooks into you and NEVER let you go. The spiral into pristine sparkle will slowly erase you from existence, your own mother will forget your name and your family will report you missing only to find you have been vanquishing filth on a scale that cannot be understood by mortals.

Do not get this game....unless your devotion is unmatched. Dot not get this game...unless you are READY.
