Surprisingly I didn’t like this game as much as I hoped. The graphics are beautiful and the game is butter smooth but the gameplay itself is very very questionable. The whole first part in the police department is incredibly dull with the puzzles and back and forth running. It’s just too much and I’m not sure anything of that makes the game to be a better horror/survival story. The second half is a bit better but not by much. And then you have to do a second story run for the true ending but actually it’s 95% the same gameplay loop again at the same locations with the same puzzles? Yeah this kills the game for me. I’ll still recommend it but I’d rather give a neutral rating if that was possible.

“I’m okay” said Alex Chen and I think that sums up the game perfectly. It’s okay. Okay but nothing special. Not bad or great either, just okay. Episode 1 is pretty good actually but it gets worse as we go further to the point that it becomes boring.

At this point I also think I’m done with the “choices matter” genre especially the Life is Strange/Deck Nine/Don’t Nod games. I’ve played pretty much everything (all LiS games, Tell Me Why, Twin Mirror) and I really don’t think that they can do anything better anymore. Feels like the developers and publishers are still chasing the original Life is Strange’s success which was incredible but I’m not sure it can be topped. It was just too good (for its own good as it seems) especially our hero’s special power, nothing ever will come close to that.

True Colors is trying to chase the same high but I’ve felt it was more like a Life is Strange “bait” in name but it didn’t feel anything special. I don’t blame anyone for that though, they will release more and more games, but as I said above I think the genre already peaked.

This was the PS3 game I’ve always wanted to play (“the next gen narrative experience”) so after almost 15 years I was a little bit excited to finally play it through. But… it’s boring. Incredible to say that but it’s boring. The story is so drawn out and I didn’t really find it that engaging at all, not a “gripping thriller” that’s for sure. There are many many unexplained things from the story to the characters, so huge plot holes that they are very hard to ignore. And the controls are horrible. QTEs are ok but even the most basic and mundane tasks needs these special movements with the clunky camera angles. It’s just annoying after 30 minutes and it only gets worse as the game goes on longer. I’ll still give a thumbs up (no neutral option) but I was expecting something much much better and special.

Way too short and basic for what it is. It’s the same “small town problems” type of game like Life is Strange and Tell Me Why, except the graphics are much better now… but that’s all and for a game like this that shouldn’t even really matter. The story, the characters, the music etc are much more important but in this game we have nothing really memorable. Not even the “special skill” of the main character is special (lol). By the time something happens the game is already over. Worth a single playthrough but otherwise forgettable.

Boooooooooooring. Actually not and that's the problem. Could have been good but the pacing kills the game before it even starts. It’s incredibly slow. This is supposed to be an 80s slasher film… but in a 10 hours long form. A 90 minutes long horror film is good fun but dragged out as a game like this doesn’t really work. Just slow and boring and I’ve lost all hope for the game by the time anything exciting happened. Thumbs up but only because there is no neutral option.

My least favorite title from the first three Dark Pictures games I’ve played. It’s just boring. The characters are actually nice, or at least not annoying. But the story is very dull. Not that a horror games has to make “sense” but once we step into the science fiction alien territory the whole thing just falls apart. At least the first two games were more “grounded” which is not a big ask but this game couldn’t even do that. Also a lot of time I’ve felt like I was playing a relationship drama/love triangle story which I wasn’t interested in at all.

Surprisingly not as funny as I thought it would be. It’s not bad but after doing 2 endings I just don’t feel like pushing the game more. The voice acting is top notch though so props for that.

Great game and I’ll recommend it, I love the Yakuza series, but I don’t think the 4 protagonist style was really that good. The characters are fine but the story is way too spread out and takes too much time to get together somehow. And even then there are some, down to the very last minute, plot twists that are questionable. I mean I like suspense and big twists but surely it can be done better than this. Regardless as I said it’s still a great game, great fun and also runs perfectly!

Not my favorite FF game of all time but I’d say this is the first “proper” title in the franchise. Good story, lovable characters, there even some character development too! It’s just a fun game all around. Oh and the music too, don’t forget that, the music is awesome.

Tried the playthrough with the new boosts (exp and gil) and auto battle mode and it was a breeze, not surprising at all but tbh the battle system was never the strength of the early games imo. You still need to farm the rare summon drops so there is that but definitely more tolerable than before.

I’ve used this guide for the 100% completion https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2596700264

Great game! Actually not just a great game, it’s my favorite AC game ever. Before that Black Flag has been my favorite, but now I say this takes the title. Looks incredible (London is detailed and full of life), plays really well (both the gameplay and the actual game performance), nice characters, and good story too. Overall it’s just a great game even if you are not following the whole franchise, can be perfectly played as a standalone title. Highly recommended!
