Fantastic visual novel, the story is beautiful despite being grim, revolting and complicated. Works like this are a true Art, I can see it being treated as classic in 100 or 200 years, reviewed by historians. Novels like Subahibi and Muramasa are challenge readers, challenge art and culture itself: they aren't exist just for a pure enjoyment, they exist to bring something new to our perception of the world and thus I consider it a true Art that can change people for the better.

Highly recommend to read, but please be aware that there're a LOT of disturbing scenes.

Beat it on PS4 (ending E) and I think that this is the best game that I've played in years. Plot, storytelling, gameplay, characters — everything is superb. If you have played previous Taro's games, than you would be pleased to see references to drakengard/1st nier, but it's not necessary to play those games to understand the story of Nier:Automata. If you would read every information in Nier:A, than after the end you wouldn't have any questions.

What I love in Yoko Taro stories is that they are not full of stereotypes — they're fresh, unique and what's more important — INTERESTING. Yup, he's not telling you a story about "rise of the humans" or something like that. His characters strive to find happines yet fails severly and only cruel destiny is awaiting them. But still they aren't feel sorry or regret anything. They aren't whining about "what ifs" and just accept reality. Would they be able to bear it — is another question.
Dark yet funny, cruel yet fascinating — this is how Yoko Taro style is looks like.

Another "pros" of this game — neverending experimentations with gameplay. I haven't tired to play this game, because it's always changes the perspective and playing style. If you have played 1st nier you would get what I'm telling about.

Overall: Best hack'n'slash of decade, 10/10.

First of all, I want to say that despite many issues, I still love this game and completed it without any regret.
Pros:
+ Story is interesting, characters are well-developed;
+ High quality and stability of PC version;
+ Availability of japanese voices;
+ Great soundtrack.
Cons:
- Story has a few cheap plot twist;
- 30 fps lock (but you can remove it easily);
- Skill system could be done better.
Overall: 7.5/10

Nice port. Stable 60fps, no lags, bugs or errors in the begining. Sadly, max resolution capped at 1600x900 (probably would be fixable with gedosato). Highly recommend to play using gamepad (still all keys are remappable).
The game itself looks fun to play, with many references, allegories, cute character design and great japanese voice actresses (Kana Asumi playing bully — this is something I will NEVER forget).

Маст хэв для любителей слешеров. Бодрый, смешной, стильный - Killer is Dead завораживает с первых минут.
Сюжет короткий - игра проходится за пару вечеров, но это не конец, т.к. остаются различные сайд-квесты и испытания, которые отлично развеят скуку.
Порт хороший: ни багов, ни неудобств в управлении не испытал. Стандартно стоит 30 фпс, но очень легко можно разблокировать 60 (см. гайды в советах сообщества).
Итог: очень приятно видеть релизы подобных игр с консолей. 9/10.

I wasn't so delighted by hack'n'slash game since DMC3. It's full of action, interesting characters and pre-fight dialogs with bosses (unlike "some" company the developers of mgr have put an effort in it and instead of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ we got an informative and impressive scenes).
The story is kinda cliché but I don't think it's bad for this kind of games.
Soundtrack is fitting to game's atmosphere (I mean it's AWESOME).
The game is short (~9h) but I don't think it's a bad thing because if it was longer it would've become boring at the end.
Score: 9/10
