Surviving Cannibals and Crafting Havoc

Introduction:
Welcome back to the wilderness, my fellow survivors! Sons of the Forest, the highly anticipated sequel to The Forest, has arrived to terrify and entertain us once again. As a fan of the first game, I couldn't wait to dive into this cannibal-infested hellscape. With its expanded building mechanics and eerie open world, this game has truly captured my attention. So, let's grab our axes, keep our eyes open for weak spots, and explore the delights and horrors of Sons of the Forest!

Building: The Real MVP
One of the standout features in Sons of the Forest is the mind-blowing building system. It's much better than the first one. Even for someone like me, who isn't usually into building, I found myself utterly hooked. The freedom to construct anything your twisted imagination desires is both satisfying and addictive. Need a simple box with storage and a bed? No problem. Want to create an extravagant fortress with traps and secret passages? The choice is yours. The building mechanics truly elevate the gameplay and provide endless possibilities for creative survival.

Combat: A Cannibal-Slaying Delight
Now, let's talk about the improved AI of those pesky cannibals. It seems they've learned a few new tricks since our last encounter. Engaging in combat with these eerie enemies is a genuinely enjoyable experience. I've discovered that an arrow to the head is usually an instant kill for the smaller cannibals, unless they're sporting some fancy headgear. Pro tip: Keep an eye out for weak spots in their armor. Look for areas where they're unprotected and strike there. Personally, I've found going for the knees when the head is out of reach can cripple them temporarily, allowing you to swoop in for the advantage. It's all about strategy, my friends!

Linux Compatibility: A Work in Progress
While most players have managed to get Sons of the Forest running smoothly on Linux without any issues, I've personally encountered some trouble. It's worth noting, however, that this seems to be an isolated case. So, if you're a Linux user, don't fret! Many players are happily surviving on their favorite OS without a hitch. For those facing compatibility struggles like me, switching to Windows temporarily may be the solution until the Linux performance improves. The game is too good to miss!

Conclusion:
In conclusion, Sons of the Forest is a survival horror gem that surpasses its predecessor. The expanded building system opens up a world of possibilities, and the improved AI of the cannibals adds an extra layer of intensity to the combat. Just remember to aim for the weak spots and watch those cannibals crumble! While my Linux experience hasn't been ideal, rest assured that most players are enjoying a smooth ride on their chosen OS. So, grab your weapons, embrace the adrenaline, and embark on this hilarious adventure into a cannibal-infested wilderness. Happy surviving!

I recently finished playing Dying Light and overall, I had a lot of fun with the game. The graphics are great and the game world is vast and detailed. The melee combat is satisfying and the parkour element adds an interesting dynamic to the gameplay. Although the parkour was more of a tool to escape from the infected rather than a fully fleshed-out feature, it was still enjoyable.

One aspect of the game that I found a bit frustrating was the limited repair system for weapons. While I understand the developers' intent to encourage players to switch up their arsenal, I found that upgrading and modding weapons felt like an afterthought. However, it's not a huge issue and the game still offers a lot of fun.

The story is okay, nothing too special, but it does its job in driving the gameplay. One thing that I found a bit odd was how the main protagonist in the game had multiple opportunities to kill you, but didn't. It didn't make sense to me.

Overall, it took me a while to finish the game, as I kept getting distracted by other titles, but I ultimately enjoyed my experience with it. I played for a total of 86.9 hours, with multiple partial playthroughs as I kept getting distracted. If you're looking for a game with similar gameplay to Dead Island and the addition of a parkour element, I would recommend giving Dying Light a try.

"It Takes Two" is an absolute blast to play. The co-op puzzle game developed by Hazelight is not only visually stunning but also has an engaging story. The game features both local and online co-op, and the local co-op has split-screen gameplay. I am not sure if the online co-op also has split-screen functionality. Even though looking at the other screen isn't necessary to solve puzzles, it does make it a bit easier.

I have to say, the full price of $39.99 is well worth it. The game has controller support, which I personally prefer, but it's more of a personal preference. It's filled with humor and a well-crafted story that will keep you entertained throughout. I have played a lot of puzzle-platformer games, but "It Takes Two" is one of the best. And don't just take my word for it, it's got an overwhelmingly positive review on Steam, which says a lot. If you're into this genre, you won't be disappointed.

Decent game. The main mission is kind of short and basically it's just a goal to survive x number of days. But you can continue playing and surviving as long as you like. Not a lot of replay-ability since it's the same map it seems like. And nothing much new there. There is no threat from monsters/aliens or whatever, it's the moon. Which is nice in a way. But the main game mechanics are just making sure you don't starve, or run out of oxygen. You could actually win the mission just by staying in your base the entire time assuming you have enough food and fuel for the generator already. Just eat when you get hungry and keep the power on so you can breath.

It's a fun game though and I enjoyed it so far for 14 hours. I've played two missions, both the same even though one was marked as 'tutorial'. I hope there is a lot more content for this in the future because it's a great start. I enjoy the survival part, it's not especially hard which is nice. I don't actually like to play games that make it a chore to keep yourself alive. I would really like to see much more tech unlocks so there is a reason to keep playing after you unlock it all. Also after I have unlocked all the upgrades, I feel like there should be some way in late game to really rake in the resources a lot faster. Or maybe at least an automated vehicle like the Dozer that will go collect things automatically. The Dozer is a good idea but right now it sucks. It turns so slowly and the power runs out so quickly. If at least there is a way to carry extra batteries that can be inserted into it when it runs out of power that would be much better. As it is, if you run out of power, that vehicle is then stranded with no way back unless you bring another up and push it back. But meh that's slow and hardly worth it. In the future I'm sure the developer will fix it, I've already read a post from him about it.

I do plan to play it some more, but I wanted to go ahead and leave my review since this game does deserve that. It's a good game and I'm sure it can only get better.

Downloaded the demo, played it for 2 hours, just trying all different strategies beating the demo (20 waves) multiple times all while still unlocking additional towers and abilities. I finally did beat it with a passive bonus on every wave and then I also beat it with one tower only (three different towers).

After I finished with that, I headed straight over to the store page to click buy... sadly I realized it's not even released yet. Needless to say, I'll be buying the full version when it's released.

EDIT: I just realized it's available for purchase on itch.io and you get a Steam key. So happy about that. :D

My first experiences with this game gave me a true sense of fear of the unknown. Generally in real life I'm a afraid to swim too deep. And this game brought that fear back while I was sitting in my chair. I honestly had a hard time bringing myself to just swim a little deeper, I didn't feel like I was constrained by the game to stay near the surface, it was just me.

After I played for a while it was very rewarding when I was able to get upgrades to go deeper and to go farther. Building the vehicles is an experience I won't forget, not so much the building part, but the realization of what I have just earned myself.

The story was good too. It was a little shallow but that was meant to be since the game is intended to mostly let you do your own thing and discover things on your own. But it's there, you just have to go look for it. You will however probably spend most of your time exploring, which is a joy to do.

In all, this is one of the best game's I've ever played. It's now sitting near the top of my all time favorite games list.

What a wonderful puzzle platformer. This was really great. Much better than expected. I saw the child like graphic style and thought "maybe it will be fun", but I underestimated the gameplay.

The game looks great and once you realize this game is not really made for children, and start some of the really fun puzzles, you get hooked. The puzzles are great, the upgrades and powerups are very rewarding and the progression is just right.

I liked this game so much, I actually went back after completing it to try for 100% completion rate. I also backed Supraland 2 on kickstarter which has since met it's goal and I'm eagerly awaiting the release of the Supraland DLC.

This game surprised me. I didn't expect it to be so fun. If you ever played the original Diablo, this will bring back some fond memories.

It's a unique combination of dungeon crawler and a bit of strategy. It's not a card game. Cards are just representations of the items and abilities.
