Very nice grand strategy wargame!
I especially like that you can also do conventional warfare here and do not have to necessarily use nuclear weaponry (compared to ICBM 1).

The tutorials are good but it has a learning curve. At first I was kind of frustrated with the first campaign mission but after I restarted the mission and revised my strategy I finally finished it and it felt like a real accomplishment.

Graphics are well made for such a game and the UI is easy to use IMO.

Looking forward to playing the rest of the campaign missions (also a great addition compared to ICBM 1).
Also looking forward to the workshop if it goes online.

EA Anti Cheat Rootkit is an absolute No-Go in a single player title! Probably the last EA game for me. Bye Bye EA!

Edit 28/3/2024:
Modding support is out now but very buggy. Not a lot has changed for the better tbh.
I'm very glad I didn't buy the Ultimate Edition back in October and I fear the game will be abandoned in the long run by the Publisher.
Well, at least I played for about 60 hrs, so my money was not completely wasted, but I'm VERY disappointed. Will carefully consider buying any Paradox games in the future.
Have to change my review to negative as I lost my hope and trust in Paradox/CO.
Hopefully there will be competition on the market for city builders in the near future...

Original:
Performance is not as bad as everyone claims IF you have MODERN hardware, which is to be expected for a MODERN game.
There is of course still lots of room for optimization and unfortunately still quiet a few bugs in the game.

Anti-aliasing right now is very BAD, keep that in mind. TAA flickers if you don't move the camera, whereas SMAA/TXAA flickers when moving the camera. FSR2/DLSS would be a much better solution IMO.

Other than that I really like the gameplay loop. Feels and looks much more realistic than CS1.

I recommend this game even if it still has its problems and hope it will be developed for a long time despite the "mixed" reviews.
Give this gem a chance!

There are quite a few improvements over SRU.
Performance is way better and UI is also improved a bit. Gameplay seems to be roughly the same (good) quality.
I plan to play this game longer than SRU because of the improvements. For how long, we'll see.
For now I would give it a thumbs up.

Edit: After playing for over 70 hrs, I can safely say that this game is superb!
Excellent graphic design. And the most important thing: Gameplay loop is very addiciting.
Storywise it also has some interesting twists.
Still hoping it will be better optimized with future updates, so it can be played better on mobile devices (Steam Deck or ROG Ally in my case).
I'm also hoping for a sequel or at least some DLC.

Original: First impression is very good!
I do hope that performance will be optimized in the future, so I can play it on my ROG Ally.
Other than that game is stable, looks and plays great! Reminds me of the good old TBS games of the late 90s/early 2000s (JA2, Silent Storm, etc.)

A really nice oldschool experience!

I also played UFO 1 Gold edition about 10 yrs ago and really liked it back then.
The second part feels more more polished out of the box with improved graphics. Of course it doesn't look like a AAA title but it's full 3D and I like the looks of it.

Gameplay is very fun so far: Feels just like the very first X-COM (aka UFO: Enemy Unknown) from 1994, which I loved playing, when I was a child.

TBH I was always looking for a UFO: Enemy Unknown Clone with new GFX in 3D and now I have it :)
New Firaxis XCOMs (although I played them a lot) never really gave me that oldschool fix.

This is the true unofficial successor to Fallout 1 & 2 I was always looking for!
Really enjoyable RPG gameplay with tactical combats in between.
Enjoyable characters and story and the leveling of characters is quite unique due to lots of perks.
Good graphics and voice acting also.
Hopefully we get a Wasteland 4 someday...

Early Access Review
First impression: very good!
I used to play tennis in my youth, and this tennis sim feels quite realistic to me.
Controls are easy to learn but hard to master. Player animations are still a bit rough around the edges, I hope this will improve in EA phase.
Rest of the GFX looks really good (but of course not AAA-like quality).
And really nice menu music BTW!
Recommended for people who like tennis and people who generally like realistic sport simulations!

Very nice little game! Quite addicitve gameplay loop. Lots of different units and incidents.
If you're into managment games like me, chances are high you will also like it.
And developer seems quite responsive and open to suggestions, too.

An absolutely great (remastered) RTS!
Nice graphics/sound/controls and a lot of content for the price.
I can't stop playing it (and I played a LOT of games in the last 30 years). It reminds me of good old times!
Really can't understand why it's downvoted that much tbh (except for the silly SJW changes) as I have noticed no significant problems in the release version.
Well... you can't please everyone, I guess.
