I really wasn't sure this would be my kind of game because of the heavy focus on permadeath, but holy moly, this game is intense and like crack. Also the soundtrack is amazing. Highly recommended if you enjoy fast paced turn based strategy.

That was quite cute, so far the levels are very easily solvable, but looking forward for more!

I have to agree with what everyone else is writing, this is probably one of the greatest turn-based tactics games out there. There is so much to do and so much freedom to do it, it's mind-boggling how this came from an indie dev. A testament to how indie gaming is the future of the industry, and everyone who still hasn't understood this is just blind. I salute the developer, they are selling this way under price.

I already loved the demo for this, which I played longer than possibly any other demo since the 90s. The game has so much to offer and even after finishing your first run you will already feel like you've gotten your money's worth. You can really tell the love that went into making this. It is a very charming coming of age game, that I cannot recommend enough!

Honestly, I cannot say anything bad about this game. If you liked the first one, you will like this one. The gameworld is huge, even by standards of the first game. It is more of the same, and that is a really good thing. The characters are believable and memorable, henry as charming as ever. Mechanics have improved, jank is the same as ever. It's lovely all around. Easily my GOTY 2025 and it's not even close. I can't imagine anything better coming out this year.

Get this, even at full price it is well worth it.

I absolutely love everything about this game. It is very clever, aesthetic and the soundtrack is spot on. This keeps you going for hours and lets you crave for more. Cannot recommend it enough.

Let me get this out of the way: I've been called a shill on the forums by several people, just because I wanted to counter-act the negative energy surrounding this game's hastily departure from early-access. So I might as well just actually become a shill. Let me just come here and actually try and sell this to you, the potential buyers.

The game is fantastic and very playable in its current state.

The negatives:
  • Yes, there are occasional bugs, but that is to be expected of an entirely randomly generated game of this magnitude.
  • The devs have completely stopped listening to feedback or engaging with the community, but that is very understandable to me. The people have become unneccesarily salty about everything the devs do. People complain about bugs and performance, when the devs put out a patch fixing bugs, they claim "this is not cutting it, they don't work fast enough" like entitled children.
  • This game had an insane amount of potential, even though it has already surpassed pretty much any immersive-sim other than deus ex by now, it is really disheartening to think about all the things that could have been.
  • The game is very demanding hardware-wise. There is an intense situation going on in the background. Don't go generating the biggest city right away.

    The positives:
  • The atmosphere is fantastic and the amount if interactivity with the world is great
  • The cases are, depending on your difficulty setting, extremely challenging
  • The occasional wonkyness just adds to the humour of the game
  • The soundtrack is fantastic and gives an atmosphere of lingering mystery, betrayal and doubt
  • Everything you find can be touched or interacted with in some way. Everything might turn out to be a clue
  • You will feel very clever when you finally crack a case in an extremely creative way and there is plenty of opportunity for creativity. There is no hand-holding in this game. If its too easy for you, then you play on too-low of a difficulty
  • Every single building, flat, bar, public place can be entered and searched. Every person you see has a routine, that changes with the day of week, friends, a phone number, a place where they actually live. Its insane how much info you can derive about every single character.
  • Everything the game claims happened actually happened. Every murder actually takes place. People need to be in the right place with the right person at a certain time. Murders don't just "spawn". If you're lucky (or unlucky), you might find yourself at a crime scene, just because you happened to walk in.

I could go on about the things I love about this game, but I'll just make it short and recommend this from the bottom of my heart. If the voxel look does not put you off, the premise interests you and you're good at solving puzzles without hand-holding then this is the game for you. Nothing compares.

I have moved beyond calling every single "2 weird 4 you" game / film "the second coming of jesus christ". I'm too old for that these days. I liked the atmosphere and the philosophical dialogue and also the religious undertones. It's a shame that this is not really a game, but rather a movie that you're forced to press keys in (aka "The Playstation-Template"). Russian voice-acting was top notch. With games like these I understand why the younger people watch streams rather than "play" themselves. Everything in the game felt more like an obstacle to surmount on the way to the next story bit, not like a fun challenge.

Overall a nice experience for playing once, but not one for the history books. I don't regret paying 20€ for it, but 15€ would also have sufficed.

This game created what a friend of mine and I now call "The Cryofall Effect". A game that looks good in videos and has good reviews, but that is just because the community is all the same kind of player that also enjoys buying the same FIFA and the newest PlayStation every year. A game so mind-numbingly boring and repetitive that the sheer thought of it drives a stake of fear into your heart that the game you just bought might turn out the same as cryofall. Out of all the games I ever bought in my entire life, I've only had the same buyer's regret with Dungeon Siege 3 and The Flock, and those were downright scams. How anyone can enjoy this "game" is beyond my comprehension.

Early Access Review
I cannot remember the last time I had this much fun in a mmanagement game. Not only is the simulation itself quite deep with all the things you can do and so many factors to consider, all the controls and the UI are super intuitive and satisfying. I have basically given up on the genre for the better part of a decade (or even longer), only occasionally trying some game that looked fun, but this got be back into the game.

Absolutely fantastic and this feels nothing like "early access". This has more features than most AAA management games and less bugs (i haven't encountered any so far). Fantastic from A to Z and the price feels like I'm stealing this.
