Flash Engine Studio's new release Miner Open Chests is a simply but fun platformer good for casual gamers and great for kids. You need to work out how to use your tools to dig/break/jump your way to other tools to eventually unlock each level. Bonuses can be tricky to solve.

Astral Flux is a terrific platformer with quirky roguelite level generation and other elements. Looks & sounds great, controls are super smooth, good enemy variety, great boss fights. Challenging fun!

Astral Flux really has some awesome environments and enemies (if you can survive long enough to meet them!). If you're up for a challenge, Astral Flux is great. Features some roguelike elements, great for replayability.

Velvet 89 is a Where's Wally-style game, albeit with a much more sombre atmosphere. Relaxing fun but also tells the tale of the Velvet Revolution through a range of testimonials. Interesting history.

Citadelum is a relaxed citybuilding experience. Features all the expected content as well as some limited exploration & combat. Also features access to sandbox & user-made missions. Beautiful game.

If you're a fan of RPGMaker games, GUTTER: The Cursed is worth a look for the setting alone. Could use some more polish and you'll die plenty (I'm talking 90s Sierra-style) but it's fun in a quirky way.

Gutter is a quirky rpgmaker game that's quest- instead of narrative-driven. Features combo-based combat. What it lacks in polish, it makes up for with a distinct and interesting setting.

I feel like I probably say this every time but Ode to Castlevania is my favourite DLC for Vampire Survivors. The map is huge, and also gated out the wazoo. You'll have to explore and defeat bosses in order to collect artefacts that allow you to open new doors and access different sections of the level. There are also a stack of hidden rooms and passages and the level features far more enemy variety than previous maps so it stays interesting. It doesn't matter if you're playing through with end-game characters, it'll take multiple runs to collect all the hidden goodies and beat the map. Everything about this DLC is big - 20 new characters, 40 new weapons. And I guess the team is running out of "simple" ideas because these ones are a little more complex than we're used to. The Alchemy Whip, for example, strikes in three directions. When evolved into the Vampire Killer, it also creates holy light blasts that only target bosses. Oh, and one unlockable character can create familiars that follow around and attack with you.

Another gorgeous little hidden item game by Sons of Welder. More of the same - 2 beautiful detailed levels, 100 cats (& 100 rubber chickens!) to find. My kids loved it too.

Spotless is an interesting take on a shooter. You use your brush to kill dust bunnies, but also to clean. Time is short so you have to be efficient. Get good and you'll unlock upgrades for better runs”.

I don't know what I was expecting going into Spotless but it wasn't this. It's a rush to clean each level but the dust attacks back. Also, you only have (very!) limited time and will likely need upgrades to do it. Requests/demands add risk/reward & interest.

Last Man Survivor should feel grindy but it doesn't. Features lots of upgrade layers (equipment, skills, etc.), focus on special abilities, interactive map. Only just released a day or so ago in Early Access! Will get bigger in time but there's hours of fun already.

Last Man Survivor is an interesting, under-stated survivors-like. It takes a fair whack of grinding to unlock characters & new weapons/abilities but still super fun & addictive somehow.

A lovely new story-driven point and click with a solid range of puzzles and a great sense of humour (very Addams Family). Highly polished, a solid gaming experience.
