The Best Treasure is a short-ish (still 100 levels!) precision platformer. Surprisingly chill. Looks & sounds great. Levels are well made, traps well placed, and new mechanics every ~10 levels.

The Best Treasure is surprisingly relaxing (that is, slow-paced & forgiving) for a precision platformer, though still challenging. Gets more interesting the further in you get with new mechanics. I love the cute mini pixel art, especially the cats. Great sound effects too.

Europa is a nice piece of visual storytelling, though I think it might be aimed at slightly younger gamers. I most enjoyed the story that unfolds as you explore the ruins of the utopian moon.

As always, 100 Hidden delivers a short but sweet hidden item experience. The pictures are bloody gorgeous. Most cats are easy to find but there's a few tricky ones. Chill game. Kids will enjoy too.

Finally! Found a game that scratches an itch I've had for a really long time. I used to love the Links golf games from the 90s but while I enjoy some modern golfers, nothing's really captured that feel for me until now. Super Video Golf is great (and multiplayer!)

Super Video Golf is a faithful throwback to the old Links games from the 90s. Plenty of levels and their all designed well with a range of putting & longer-range challenges. Looks & plays great.

Bearnard is an exceptional platformer. Has a great sense of humour, plenty of secrets, consumables, enemies, bonus challenges. And it features a clever turn-based tactical combat system. It's awesome.

Probably one of the best platformers I've played in recently memory, Bearnard rocks. You find tons of consumables along the way which you'll use in turn-based tactical combat (you heard right!). The whole game's cleverly written & designed and the fights are challenging.

Absolutely loving Iron Meat. Bangin' soundtrack, awesome level design. Love the combo of enemies & environmental threats. I found it challenging but played with the young fella and he got absolutely minced (as it should be!). Top shelf run and gun.

Iron Meat is an awesome run and gun. Looks and sounds awesome, smooth controls, super polished. Fast-paced, brutal (get touched and you die!). Awesome levels and boss fights. Great for co-op too!

Must be the year for HoMM clones! Silence of the Siren's even better than I expected. Desperately needs new key art; the game itself looks great. Could use a tad more balancing but still in EA- I'm looking forward to the other campaigns & factions releasing.

Silence of the Siren is a HoMM clone, sure. But with a unique setting and factions & so much attention to lore it's much more than just a re-skin. Interesting level design & combat, well-written.

Disappointed in myself for taking a month to get to new horror point and click Devil's Hideout but it's been that sort of month. Short but really good. Has plenty of interactivity but really gives off a nice "sitting in the dark reading a nice horror story" vibe.

Devil's Hideout is a small but solid point and click. Nails the terror vibe it's trying for. Strong art direction, characters, writing, and voice acting. Simple puzzles but memorable story.

Idylls of the Lunar Maria is a quirky match-3 with surprisingly interactive tiles and range of enemies. Also features 3 characters with their own stories (although the writing isn't a strong point). Needs a little more balance & polish but fun. Easy enough for kids.

If you're a fan of chill games, check out Paws for Adventure. It only released a couple of weeks ago. While a little slow and repetitive to start, it really opens up and there's quite a bit to explore, challenging boss enemies to fight, hunting, puzzles...

Paws for Adventure is a charming and relaxing game that sees you playing as a cat - hunting (sneaking, pouncing), fighting, & exploring. Quite a few nifty puzzles snuck in too. Be great for kids.
