Simply put this game has set the new standard for competitive FPS. It's extremely polished for an early access game and will grow and flourish as an esport.

Highly recommended 10/10

The game tries to sell its self as a competitive arena FPS similar to those of the 90's era. However that's really where it falls short. Toxikk really has nothing in common with a proper arena fps and its really just another casual modern FPS game.

Here are the core problems.

* Over the top fog and post processing that cannot be disabled in online mode (see forum post: http://forum.toxikk.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1400&p=13556#p13556)

* Film grain / HDR / Bloom / Post Processing / Distortion / Grain effect make visibility worse than even call of duty.

* Mouse acceleration and smoothing is difficult to remove, to fully remove it you have to change a number of config settings, these config changes tend to get overwritten if you don't set them to read only.

Seeing as this is an early access game, and this is the direction the developers have decided to take the game really disappoints me. I will update this review if any of these issues change, and hopefully they do.

I would personally avoid the game and go for a proper competitive fps like Reflex.

The dev's released an update today that fixed the visibility issues to some degree. The fog is still there however player models are much more visible now.

That was my main gripe with the game. The best solution is to totally remove the fog, but as its currently not as game breaking as before I'm going to change my update from not recommend to recommended.

One of the most fun adventure games I have played since classic Sam & Max Hit the Road / Day of the Tentacle. High recommended, lots of fun!

Only issues I had were that you couldn't save your progress with out a checkpoint (stupid console type save) and the keyboard control's aren't that great.

Having grown up with the NES and SNES / Sega Genesis Double Dragon series, I was coming into this game with high expectations.

At first I was disappointed as the core game play mechanics have changed, however after giving it a second chance I can see the merit of the changes.

Overall the game doesn't live up to the originals, that might be because I'm older now or for any number of reasons. But none the less its still a great game, and I would recommend it to any one who is a fan of the genre.

One thing that threw me off and is one of my favorite aspects of the game is the amazing sound track. The music is top notch, and I would love to know where to get the sound track.

Tower Defense is one of my favorite genres, and this is one of the best TD games on steam.

To start It has tight controls, and a smart hotkey layout. I found this to be the main problem with most of the tower defense games I have tried so far.

The only issue I have with the game is that tower placement is restricted to pre determined areas, this lowers the difficulty of the game and the strategic aspect. However as you progress further It becomes less of an issue as the maps become bigger.

I would rate the game 8/10

One of the most fun games I have ever played. If you enjoy counter strike surfing, this game will be right up your ally.

* Game play is extremely addictive.

* Controls are tight.

* Music is good.

* High skill ceiling

* Active online community.

the premise of the game is great, however the 30 fps lock makes it unplayable.

I would avoid the game until there is an update that removes the fps lock, or a community mod.

Classic Double Dragon style beat em up game featuring Jesus and Judas. Game has both smooth controls and fun game play.

If you're into the genre you'll enjoy it. 9.5/10

I feel like Wrack is a perfect tribute to what PC gaming was in the mid 90's. It has all the necessary ingredients:

* Fun
* Fast
* Difficult
* Replay Value
* Gameplay Depth

I would recommend getting this game for one of your younger siblings / cousins / friends who are curious as to what real FPS games were like before the triple AAA titles from Activision / EA dumbed down the genre.

In essence its a top notch FPS game that does everything right. I have thoroughly enjoyed it thus far. Easily 10/10

One of the best competitive FPS games around, simply put. This is a fast paced twitch shooter than requires practice and dexterity, if that's your type of thing try it out.
