Yes, unfortunately I know all about 'artificial difficulty'--it's one of by biggest pet peeves. Anyway, thanks for the excellent feedback. I respect your opinion, so I think I'll pass. Yes, it's cheap, but there are other things I could spend my money on.

Just in case you weren't aware of it already. I had not been myself, until a few months ago. But I think it's pretty damn cool that there're people out there still making content for a 20 year-old game! (Even if it is a classic.)

I think the GOG packages include all the music, from what I've been reading. In any case, do you need any? I ripped the Nine Inch Nails soundtrack from the base game, plus the OST's from the 2 mission packs (one by Hipnotic, the other by Trent Reznor), so let me know if you're missing anything.

Oh, and BTW, remember 'Shadow Warrior" from back in the day? Found that disc too in the batch! Among other goodies which I had thought lost to the sands of time...

Regarding your Steam copies of those mission packs: did they come with the original music? Some of the reviews said they did NOT, which is why I never purchased them from Steam (this is before I realized that I still had the original CD's). Although now that I found the discs, I'd be open to purchasing digital versions for convenience sake, as it can sometimes be a PITA to get old games like that to run on the modern versions of Windows. I ripped all the music off those discs last week, so now it's not too much of a concern (although it still sucks if new players aren't getting to experience it with the original soundtracks, 'cause they're pretty damn good!)

Can't believe you're playing the original Quake mission packs...that's freakin' awesome! By total coincidence, was going through some old boxes last week and came across these:

Those are the original discs, Scourge of Armagon and Dissolution of Eternity. My favorite enemy were the arachnotrons (or whatever they were called-- they were big ass scorpion-looking things)...not sure which mission pack they appeared in.

My memory is a little hazy, but isn't the first line "I'm gonna bury those m-f'ers?" THAT'S your messaging ringtone?!? If so, I'd love to be there when your phone chirps in, let's say, a doctor's waiting room. Or maybe while handing a girl flowers. That's too much...LOL
