after a disastrous pc launch, i finally went back to try it out. probably my favorite game i played in 2024.

Might be the only good jrpg I've ever played. The side stories are ridiculous, but they fit the setting, unlike some jrpgs that take themselves too seriously. If you had any doubt that Yakuza could transition from beat 'em up to jrpg: don't. It's so much fun.

Essentially a chill winamp visualization plugin where I float through space and cut stuff up while listening to music.

way more depth than i expected and has modes for people just looking to kick back in arcade mode or go overboard in realistic mode

there is some jank but i am having a ton of fun with the main story.

it can be infuriating but when you capture a point with the coordination of all the other squads by a good commander, there's no other experience like it.

I had to do a saving throw to get an erection after reading a description of an attractive lady.

The dialog is genuinely hilarious and I recommend this game.

It swallowed all my free time for almost a solid month and I can't wait for the new content to come out. Probably my GOTY of 2018.
