Early Access Review
Its still a bit rough around the edges but its quite fully realized for despite its Early Access status.

Ive played many a Farming/Life Sim and most deserve to be called "Souless Stardew Valley Rip Offs" seeing as they only show up to the plate with enough content for a years worth of in game time and then every subsequent "update" after 1.0 is just 124 DLC content packs trying to sell you hats and building skins that they totally didnt just rip from the nexus. Getting an update from Mistria that actually included content like new festivals and events was more of a breath of fresh air than it shouldve been.

Im hear to say that Fields of Mistria is not this. It may have a few features directly taken or inspired by Stardew but these are mostly just UI QoL, Mechanics or things that are simply intrinsic to the genre. Beyond that tho, Mistria has the Heart, Soul and Spirit to stand on its own two legs; it is familiar but wholly unique. Also the funky flea inspired slap bass riff in Autumn is literally to die for 🎶

Its been a long time since Ive come across a game I would recommend quite as readily and highly as I would this one.

Like a handful of other reviewers, I dragged my feet about buying TWAU in particular because I wasnt an outspoken fan of The Walking Dead; personally I found TWDG to be very stressful--TOO stressful to be perfectly honest--to really enjoy my time playing it. However TWAU has just enough of that same suspense to keep you absolutely hooked but not so much that it feels like theres gonna be YET ANOTHER zombie jump scare after every choice.

The art of the game is an absolute joy for the eyes--it has even more of that moving comic vibe and I adore it--it really creates and exagerrates the atmosphere perfectly.

On top of all this the characters are sublime--no ones perfect, everyones just as frustrating at times as they are charming in others and so yer left with a fairly natural sense of interaction among them all.

Ive only just begun to play but I already find the game to be incredibly charming and relaxing to play. Its ssimple and easy to get into, the graphics are very nice to look at (very colorful) and its easy to lose yerself for hours as you take care of your little beleivers.

However its still clearly an Early Acess game--shaping the land can be difficult and incredibly touchy at best; I really think some environmental music could really make the experience completely enveloping; and in-game goals can be diluted and vague, making it uncertain what youre actually aiming to do--but ultimately didnt find these lackings to be deal breakers.

I had and still have fun playing this game but I wouldnt rec it unless you enjoy that facebook game feel.
