Awesome game. I wish todays games would be as fun as this. Only negative point is the required Ubisoft Connect launcher. But after you set it up to keep your credentials its ok.

Started with the Call of Juarez Gunslinger which I really liked. So I decided to buy the precedessors. Unfortunately Call of Juarez has lots of bugs and caveats. For example get your gun in a duell sometimes just does not work (hint: increase DPI in this case and it will work. Bad thing is you shake your oversensitive mice all over the screen.) Also when face Juarez, between the movie sequence and battle start, I just die for no reason. I die, countdown starts anyway but then game tells me Im dead at 5s (idk how to solve and at that point I dont care to find a solution). Really strange bugs and I wonder how it even could have been released with such awful bugs.
I was kinda dissapointed. Still, the game is kinda unique and if you have the chance to get it at sale its still worth a try.

The Half-Life 3 we never got.
I've already played it before when this community project was avaiable for free (via website, not Steam) but that was many years ago.

Well, its the definition of a good game. Different gamemodes, no microtransactions/lootboxes, big community and a bunch of servers. One of the rare games you buy with no regrets.

Update 10.10.2024 since CS:GO => CS:2:
I didnt know that the bottom of the counter strike series has a basement...
First they removed gungame aka arms race and it took them several months to add it back. With exactly TWO maps. No, its not a joke. TWO gungame maps several months after releasing CS:2. (Ohh finally, I got it. The 2 stands for the number of gungame maps. Or devs. or management braincells.)
After all the history of Counter Strike and what it became shows exactly what is wrong with todays society and why. Where earlier Counter Strike titles attracted lots of friendly people, modders and mappers who extended the game with more functions, optimizations, extensions, creative content and beautiful maps and brought together people who became communities who ran their own servers, creating a big avid environment where everyone found the perfect server to play. Funny minigames, surfing, skiing, climbing, zombies, obstacleruns and hopping around, football, icehockey, or rescuing the world from dinosaurs, we had em all.
Then CS:GO got released. Ways to mod the game drastically decreased, community server browser only accessible over a few clicks. Bunnyhopping without autohop? not anymore. change the skins of players to what you like? Nope. But why? Money. Thats all. Lootboxes, Microtransactions, stupid enforced skins, cringe dancing at rounds end. And of course all of this garbage comes with a price tag. Not long and something else got attracted to the game: lots of rude people, hate, cheating and envy. And farming bots. lots of them. staying at the spawn and spinning. Of course, not only valve managers put their money over society and humanity. Squeezing out every penny no matter what damage it does. Now look around, its the same outside of the game. A few that put their wealth, their thriving for ultimative power over everybody and everything.
Dont be part of this, avoid this game.

Bought that game in August 2012 when it was released. Played till today 82h while I love CounterStrike. The thing is, this is not a CounterStrike anymore. It's all about lootboxes, useless skins (while there is no way to disable them) and ranks. But thats not all. This game kills all the famous mods and community server with this enforcing of micropayments, console support (which makes the GUI crap AF with keyboard. Just try to choose team with keys. Impossible).
All in all you get Call of Duty and not CounterStrike anymore. Feel bad for every single cent I invested to buy this garbage. Oh and btw since we talk about money: I cant sell all those useless cases which I'll never open because, guess what, I didnt buy something at steam shop recently so Im not allowed to sell aswell. Confusion of the highest orda!

Nice game. I like that it has more levels than the original Alien Swarm.
Why you should play it:
- The games was not made to maximize shareholders profits
- Its free and I mean FREE AT ALL, not "free to install and pay to progress".
- No lootboxes and other kind of ingame micro transactions. New weapons are unlocked by experience points you earn while playing no shortcuts no alternatives only experience.
- It is made with passion and receives regular updates/patches and new content
- Lots of fun to play coop with friends
- Runs on your potato laptop
I fully recommend it. A game made with love.

Just the best game ever. Unfortunately also the last real Counter-Strike since CSGO is more common to COD.
