Tips for absolute beginners:
- Unless you're in the way: If the enemy is shooting at someone else, he ain't shooting at you!
- Learn when and why to use crouch (Ctrl) and sneak (Shift)
- Appreciate smokes, Molotovs and other utility in achieving the objective
- There's no shame in rotating or retreating, only in standing around with a thumb up your ass!
- If you're one of the last (on either team): Drop the AWP and pick up an AK, who's gonna steal it?
- Work as a team: What are you supposed to do?

Tips for moderately experienced players:
- Understand the concept of "buying time"
- "If it works, it ain't stupid."
- Do the math: How many enemies on A or B?
- Generally speaking, "adapt and improvise" beats "perfectly executed" on a regular basis
- "Yes, it is unfair, and yes, things are stacked against you; but keep going!"
- Toughen up and become immune to low team morale

Food for thought:
- There are individual (holding angles), tactical (how to push as a team) and strategic (which bomb site to pick) aspects to be considered
- Too much voice communication is even worse than none (this has been scientifically studied by militaries)
- All things being equal: It boils down to timing and --thus and ultimately-- luck!
