Friends and I picked up this game early in its dev life during COVID. Played the hell out of it, loved how open the dev was about challenges and upcoming content and every update was great....until the lighting changes. The game is legitimately unplayable now. It's a very weird experience having a game you love made objectively worse and then watch the dev dig their heels in and say the change is staying.

Won't be coming back to this game, will just look for similar games with less stubborn devs.

Played this game for nearly 10 years on and off and the latest patch was so tone deaf and borderline directly insulting to the playerbase. On top of that, they hid the worst changes from the patch notes and only admitted what they did after the community called them out....which then doubled down on....and then tripled down on lol. I don't think I've ever seen a dev so disconnected from their players. What's more is that this is likely the approach they will take with Path of Exile 2. Skip this league and skip that when it comes out.

Game is more broken on release than it was in early access. Multiple ways to completely lose your progress, brick your characters, and a number of game features don't work at all. Half the passive skills are bugged, do nothing, or are inaccurate. It's possible with a bug currently to completely brick the game and be unable to play at all. Should not have been released in this state. Stay far away until the devs finish using customers as free QA.
