been using the non-steam version seriously for over two years, and non-seriously for well over 6 years.
literally single-handedly changed my career path and it didn't ask for a single cent.

no idea how blender isn't widely considered industry standard software yet (though it's slowly getting there!)

compared to other "industry standard" programs, blender is almost always just as good as its competition, and usually far more user-friendly. literally thousands and thousands of dollars worth of value for free.
furthermore, blender is constantly updating and constantly soaring ahead of the alternatives. Currently the only two programs i can think of that blender isn't fully capable of replacing yet are autocad/inventor type programs and substance painter.

it may be daunting and difficult at first, but once you get acquainted with it, it becomes extremely user-friendly

basically, if you want to experiment with 3d art, blender is the best place to start and the best place to be.

rewriting my review about this game, because I feel like i went a bit harsh on the game.

The game is great, specifically:

-combat
-weapon variety
-voice acting
-music
-character depth

The game also has phenominal storytelling, but unfortunately has a very poor story to tell. A lot of elements it introduces go effectively unused, and the game violates the rule of "if you introduce something in the first act, don't let it go unused by the third" quite a bit.

The 1st storyline has a pretty decent story, but the third storyline (the first and second storylines are identical, just from a different viewpoint) has so many plotholes and so much of it relies on shock value. A lot of the lore contradicts itself (i.e. how androids can just pop their memories into a new body and be good to go if anything happens).

The game also establishes itself as having this grandiose, wide-spread story by introducing story element after story element, but as I said before, most of those go virtually unused, and even worse, a lot of them are there specifically for shock value later.

It almost feels as if the game has no climax, and is constantly in its exposition/rising action phase.

So to those who might have heard that the game's story is good, it's not. The storytelling is good, but with such a been-done-before story, it's hard to argue for that either.

Also, the bosses tend to repeat themselves. In the first storyline, there are 10 bosses (i think) and only one of them is something you've fought before.
In the third storyline, though, there are 7-ish bosses and a solid 5 or so of them are something you've fought before.

It seems like a lot of westerners unjustly praise japanese media with dark/depressing themes.

This is not a perfect game, but aside from the story and boss repetition, pretty much everything else about this game is phenominal.
