such a bad game

I previously played this game on Quest as I got the Meta Quest+ subscription free for 6 months after buying the Quest 3, and the first month of that subscription allowed me access to this game for free. Despite thinking I wouldn't like it as much as other leading VR FPS games like Pavlov or Contractors, this game quickly grew to become not only my favorite VR FPS, but also my favorite VR game in general. Despite Quest not tracking hours in games, throughout the past months I've had my Quest 3 (and Onward) I've easily spent hundreds of hours within the game, which, when taking into account every other VR game I own has likely less than 20 hours of gameplay, you'll realize is quite a lot.

That being said, after all the hours I've played in this game, I've noticed only three major flaws that somewhat impact the experience of the game, that being the following:

1. Graphics Quality: Onward is known for its infamous update which led to it being available on Quest at the cost of the graphics being severely downgraded on both Quest and PCVR (as to allow the Quest to smoothly run it and PCVR to not have an advantage with the graphics) however, I believe that while yes, having better graphics WOULD make the game a number more enjoyable, the downgraded graphics don't impact the experience of the game TOO much. After all, while bullets are flying overhead as you're laying down with a VR headset on trying not to be hit, are you really going to be paying attention to the lower quality graphics around you? This game does an AMAZING job of being immersive, so the answer is no.

2. Repetition: Especially within multiplayer, once you play the game as much as I have, you start to realize patterns and repetition between maps. Despite having a community workshop of maps, there is a point to which you will be playing the same maps over and over which can eventually get boring. To anyone looking to buy this game and if it's worth it, don't let this fact deceive you because the game has plenty maps to keep you entertained for hundreds of hours, and this repetition still doesn't quite bother me too much but a larger workshop of community maps (or official maps) would be highly enjoyable. In addition, Onward has quite a lot of variety in things to do as well.

3. Playerbase: Yes, this game can be filled with children who were born an hour ago and are already laying their hands on a VR headset. While some lobbies can be filled with these players, most aren't and you'll almost always have a relatively enjoyable experience, so don't let this discourage you either.

All in all, this game is 100% worth it, and that's all there is to it. Are there ways it could improve? Yeah. But, that's just a fact with every game.
