Family History Project
Your essential task:
You will compose a minimum 7-page typewritten paper, in which you recount the story of how
your ancestors came to the United States and their experiences up to the present day. The paper should must be presented in two parts. Part I will include general research analysis of the
social, cultural, economic, or political conditions that apply to the main ethnic group from
which your ancestors have come. You will research the factors that caused their decision to
leave the “old-country” as well as an analysis of what social, cultural, economic and political
conditions greeted them, in general, when they arrived. Part II consists of the actual story of
your particular family’s experiences.
