This is one of those games that look good, sound good, play well, and are in the end enjoyable but require a long attention span and from time to time you have to push yourself to play through some of the boring or confusing parts of the story to reach the good bits...

State of Mind is an interactive drama that plays like a hybrid of Detroit: Become Human and Quantum Break. Gameplay is what you'd expect of any walking simulator (i.e. walking around, talking to people, interacting with objects), with occasional puzzles to solve and other mechanics like drone flying, basic shooting, etc.

The best part of the game - for me - is the graphic design and the music. It's absolutely phenomenal, one of the best I've seen in capturing that futuristic vibe. Sometime I would just stay in my apartment, turn on the music, and just look around thinking 'wow I wish I had an apartment like this'. The interior design in this game is just very atmospheric and aesthetically pleasing.

The story is good but complicated... It's about some family matters that are intertwined with a world-changing conspiracy that has to do with virtual reality. I'd say overall it's a very well-written story with engaging plots and lots of mysteries to discover. The first two hours are pretty boring though, and that's where I almost decided to put this aside. Then after that when the story unfolds, it gets very interesting... until about 6 or 7 hours, which is another point where I almost gave up because there were just too much information presented to you and too many questions unanswered. Fortunately, it's got a great ending that tied everything together and you ended up having to make some difficult choices, which is always good thing in narrative-driven games like this. The epilogue (of my ending at least) is a little too brief... I would like to know more about what the world and my family is like after the finale.

Overall, it's a pretty decent story game that looks and sounds great but just requires a little bit of patience for it to really shine. Recommended.
