A fun, campy throwback to CD-ROM oddities like Connections as well as pulpy detective novels. The UI can become pretty crowded and difficult to navigate in the late game, but aside from that, it's a fun ride when taken for what it is - a nostalgic little mystery.

In the past two weeks I have played this game more than I have worked. I have played this game probably more than I have slept. If I had a wife, she would have left me. She would have taken the kids with her. I would not have noticed, because I was too busy grinding out a cultural victory. Thankfully, I did not have a life to begin with, so there's nothing to ruin. 10/10

The good: it has some of what made the first one great. There's hints of social commentary, flashes of the great gameplay, and plenty of fantastic music (shout-out to Subway). Some of the unique choices for how different characters play and interact with the world are cool too.

The bad: DEEPLY over-reliant on guns to the extent that it makes certain sections of the game frustratingly difficult in a way that is not fulfilling or good. The whole idea of combos frequently go out the window for that reason, and the gameplay loops that made the first one sometimes feel like a sort of puzzle instead feel like bashing your head against a wall over and over again. Maybe I'm just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ at the game, but I feel so hard stuck on a particular level (one of the notorious Hawaii levels) that I genuinely have no desire to keep grinding. It's just annoying.

First of all, this is gross. Second of all, it's also bad!
