my friend told me this looked like the nitrome game with the cupid bean cats if they had boobs and i can't stop thinking about it now

good
+the satisfaction after beating a really hard section or boss oh baby (note that i also went for all flawless bosses because i hate myself)
+game does a pretty decent job at exposing you to new gimmicks and amping up the difficulty with said gimmicks
+rubi's dumptruck booty
+this game was almost as hard as me when i saw rubi lying face down
+nah but actually this game is tough as nails but it made me wanna grind and get better, i'd always go "ok one more try at this flawless boss"
+the achievements are actually kind of fun to get, like i'm not usually a completionist but this was fun to 100%
+your weapons are honestly dinky turd but overtime you learn the ins and outs of using em which is pretty cool
+customization and rewards for being curious which is kinda neat
+darkheim watch letting you go back and get items you missed is so good

neutral
=sometimes im like ok where do i go now and i just have no clue (this is mitigated somewhat by exploration being encouraged, but often, i can't tell if a section is stupid hard or if i literally cannot do it with my current moveset)
=game on the whole isn't unfair, just really really freaking mean

bad
-despite the above point, the game isn't removed of dumb 'i didn't expect that' moments entirely, you'll easily be caught off guard by things and will have to grind sections out to get better at em
-often you have to double take what's background and what isnt
-sometimes you just pray for good boss rng and that's the strat (this gets more egregious the further you progress)
-myougi 2 fight, for emphasis on how ass boss fights can be and how reliant on rng they can be
-the elevator section in the library
-i went back and played on angel mode for a bit and the game feels so much easier and it feels like there's no inbetween
-you don't unlock the rubi skin after beating mortal mode (it's only after angel mode that you'd unlock her) so you know game sucks
-myougi

closing
overall how do i flawless this final boss

From all the vast and unique mediums of art, video games separate themselves from the lot for possibly the sole reason that they are the only platform to grant profound interaction between a work and its consumer. It is a medium by which a player may engross themselves inside of; to have the player embrace a world that may have never existed in such a way- that is the very essence of a video game.

Of course, a good game may have the player lost inside such a world, yet may simply leave it at that. However, a true masterpiece will dare to go even farther beyond. It will challenge the fabrics of the game-player barrier and connect with the player on an intimate level. A masterful game leaves its mark on each soul ready to explore its inner workings. One could call it a mutual bond so to speak: just as the player will explore a masterful game, so too will such a game explore the player and resonate uniquely with one.

Having all this said, I would like to propose that Teddy Floppy Ear- Mountain Adventure goes even further than even that. Teddy Floppy Ear- Mountain Adventure is more than just an adventure. It is MORE than an experience. It is a journey that presses farther than the very workings of the self. One could not simply call it 'enlightenment'. This game ventures towards the null, alighting a candle out of pure void. It vanquishes the intrinsic emptiness plaguing the self. Teddy Floppy Ear- Mountain Adventure left me beyond words and with emotions unknown to humankind. I believe Teddy Floppy Ear- Mountain Adventure is a game that operates on the ith dimension with but simply its compelling plot. The review would be much longer than it already is if I were to mention every aspect, every detail, every byte of data stored to make Teddy Floppy Ear what it is.

I urge you, please experience this game. If not for me, for yourself.

the last game to have shantae's arm circle things, pour one out

+cute girls
+cool dungeons they made me use my brain
+actually one of the 'dungeons' isnt even a dungeon, it's an enemy time trial gauntlet which i thought was cool enough to mention
+backtracking is pretty nice in this game with warp statues
+items use a magic meter which made me want to use them more than i did in the first game
+monkey bullet
+very rad final boss and it sets up for the next game really nicely

=transforming is far more streamlined now but it was also fine in the first game
=you stop time when you do a dance unlike the first game, meaning you don't get hit cheaply while you're trying to transform but that element of strategically choosing when to dance is now gone
=ost pops off significantly less hard than its predecessor and sequel but i wouldnt call it bad

-exploring with the mermaid was very not fun (too much open space and aimless wandering in places that could've been way smaller)
-the overworld map kind of blows but it's usable
-the textboxes look so poorly aged, they're like something i'd see from a flash game
-the weakest opening tutorial in the series (having played the first three games)
-dancing doesn't change the music like a cool dude (somewhat makes sense having been streamlined)

you sure go down a well in this one

+easy to learn hard to master type game
+feels real nice getting fat combos and wall jumping like a cool dude to preserve your combos
+nice pixel aesthetic
+heart balloon
+the player is encouraged to experiment with different gun modules because of the health or ammo boosts that come with each weapon

=after you beat the game that's kinda it but you do get different styles of play and hard mode

-some of the powerups suck buttcheeks
-burst gun module

this game is pretty good

+omega cute girls
+shantae dances with the magic lamp
+still one of the best soundtracks in the series. absolutely bussin
+banger dungeon designs still
+an actually good map for the first time
+backtracking is far easier with pirate flares and risky
+it feels like you move way faster than the games prior
+bolo is horny again which was arguably the best part of the first game

=no transformations like the other games but you get cool pirate swag

-the airship area kinda sucks because of how long winded it is but you get to run fast sometimes
-no transformations means no monkey bullet and like come on man
-it took me like an hour into the game before i got used to how you navigate the inventory
-it says "eit game" which is pretty funny admittedly

this was my baby's first shoot em up if that's worth anything

good
+very forgiving system but brutal gameplay which encourages the player to get good and keep playing
+there's only like 4 stages but the game never gets stale despite that
+absolutely killer ost despite being midi
+unstopping, for emphasis on the ost
+there are cute girls in those mechs
+this game is flashy as hell and i love it

neutral
=pretty good balancing on the powerups except for the lock-on vs charge shot, like just take charge shot
=apparently a really cool plot but i was too stupid to understand it so it's going in as a neutral point

bad
-you'd think that the powerup you get is based on the symbol that it switches onto and not if it's the left orb or the right orb
-they don't let you date mido zeroranger in the dream sequence so i mean horrible game
-the final boss takes a fat dump on your save file if you lose which is honestly just brutal

closing
overall this is a very cool game that is very underlooked
also i wish there was more art of cute girl mido

Early Access Review
Me and my friend have probably spent over 20 hours playing the game total, and we regret none of them (other than the ones spent before the reset). Roguelands has the platforming of Cave Story (except the platforms themselves are much more simpler), the RPG elements of Realm of the Mad God, and the action-adventure of The Legend of Zelda.

Pros:

+Fast paced, filled with action and fun
+Gameplay is interesting
+Simple yet fun mechanics
+The game lets you head in your own pace; you don't need to do worlds or anything in order
+Game is beautiful, background is always fitting and sprites look fantastic (for its style)
+Soundtrack and SFX are memorable (for the most part)
+Variety of items, weapons, armor, characters, etc
+Easy to level up and get nice gear (for the most part)
+Addicting
+Rewarding
+Risk for reward (Although I wouldn’t recommend risk)
+Challenging (in the fun sense)
+Lots of replay-ability

Neutral Factors:

=Better in multiplayer, but fun all the same in single player
=Deaths are permanent; you lose all character held items on death (might be a good factor for replay-ability)

Cons:

-Huge lack of a story
-Worlds are obvious re-skins
-No changes in the terrain whatsoever
-Barely any mobs in each world (3-4 at most, 5 if you include bosses)
-Game is a little glitchy at times
-A.I is a bit poor
-Repetitive at times
-Items (out of your inventory)
-Will sometimes spawn/float out of your reach
-Grab range is decent, but something could be done with your bot to grab items

Overall, this game is great, given its Alpha stage. It shows a lot of potential and shows a lot of development being put into it. The game is even updated every Thursday, so that might get you to play the game even more. This game is definitely worth 10 dollars, or even your 10 dollars.

9/10, I strongly recommend this game to anyone who was a fan of Magicite should play this.
