A story heavy tactical RPG leaning more towards fire emblem rather than Xcom, it takes about 50 hours to finish and 70 to reach the "true ending". The gameplay relies heavily on using your equipment rather than the raw stats of your units which is an interesting mechanic that works surprisingly well in some maps.

The strongest points of this game is when it puts you on the defensive against enemies that easily quintuple your numbers, making you manage your positioning and limited resources to stop enemies from completely overwhelming you (2-5 is one of the most fun maps i've ever played in a turn based strategy game) however it suffers from A LOT of stealth and gimmicky puzzle maps, most of the unique gimmicks of those maps are useless at best and incredibly annoying at worst, paired with some bosses that outright take way too long to deal with there's a lot of frustration at some points.

Even then the game has enough high points to make up for these frustrating maps, with an interesting sci-fi story, fun mechanics and challenges/collectibles that warrant at least some degree of replayabilty it more than justifies its price for anyone interested in the genre.

Game 1: I don't know what im doing, i don't know what im supposed to be doing, i dont know what the panels or the cards do

Game 5: I kind of understand what to do and how to win but i don't understand the deeper mechanics

Game 10: I understand how the mechanics work and how to win but the game relies heavily on RNG and my inputs seem irrelevant

Game 30: Im trying to manipulate the odds on my favor im playing to my characters strenghts and trying to downplay their weaknesses

Game 50: I understand the deep mechanics, im tailoring my deck to not only boost my own strenghts but also use my enemies weaknesses against themselves

Game 100: My plan is flawless, my deck is perfect, my enemies are unknowingly helping me, their moves are irrelevant for the game has already ended before it even started nvm poppo stole all my stars

Early Access Review
easy to pick up, hard to let go. The game in a few words.

Unturned is all those "PVP-PVE survival games" done right, the concept its very basic and very adictive at the same time. by having a Free to play concept and low system requirements the problem of server population its gone and althought it doesn't have dedicated server by the time im writing this review, its still in an early beta.
As i said, the low system requirements really help on making big maps with a decent draw distance and i hope in the future it has even bigger maps that support a big transit of players.

final score 8/10 it has alot of potential.
