Installed the game, was prompted to create a new account with some service I've never heard of. Jumped through a few hoops just to figure out their weird system. Got an account, tried to login, slapped with network connection issues and couldn't login. Uninstalled the game.

The community fights bugs, robots and corporations. There has been victory around every corner. I continue to fight for democracy.

It's Vermintide in the grim dark. Difficulty scales well with very interesting enemies that show up in higher levels. Tons of fun solo but even better with friends. Visuals are incredible. This is my current top pick for PvE games.

While this game definitely had it's moments, it took me many hours to understand what the underlying agitation was. My initial play through was a 100% run and the second on Ultimate difficulty.

The game is spectacle. Which is terrific if that's what you want from this game. Spiderman has really cool moves and works his way through really fun fights. However, I wanted a game where I was the one building my skill to perform cool attacks and be an amazing spiderman. That is not what this game is. You press the punch button until the bar fills, then you push the other button to perform a finisher. You are not learning cool combos or navigating fights in a way only spiderman could. You just sit back and watch the spectacle that someone else made.

This also infects the web swinging. If you want to get across town, you push the swing button, then the jump button, then swing again. You don't have to pay attention to momentum or consider where the buildings are so that you can traverse a path. They added a zipline type ability so that if you mess up your swing, just zip back up and jump into a swing. This kind of hand holding is also evident when you jump off a tall building. You don't die, you just do a super hero landing. Not very interesting. I jumped off the tallest building to make sure it wasn't a fluke. Nope. No death. Don't worry about trying too hard.

Boss fights aren't any better. Some are fun locations. Near the end of the game you have to fight two bosses at a time. Even on ultimate difficulty it only took one attempt, but just a few more punches. None of them had any interesting to do. You dodge, then attack, then wait for their attack combo to finish. Of all the legendary spiderman villains in the game, none of them do anything interesting to do. They all go through an almost identical pattern of attack.

At the very least, the game isn't bad. It's just not what I wanted to play so I spent many hours understanding what bothered me. The whole time I was hoping to have an option for a more technical experience after finding how many accessibility options were added.

I've done meth and this was harder to quit. A number of fantastic and simple concepts come together in the most amazing way to create an insanely complicated end game experience. I've stood around for hours trying to find the most efficient way to get a resource to the other side of the factory. 10/10 would stand idle again.

Years of playing and hundreds of hours, the devs find it important to force you to create an Epic Games account. No thanks. I'll move on.
