Early Access Review
I'm so disappointed. There was definitely a lot of promise with this game, but big publisher decided to be big publisher and liquidate the development studio. As it stands, it's pretty unlikely that KSP2 will receive any more updates.

Unless this review managed to age like milk in a year or two, don't buy this. Just play KSP1 with mods.

This game is simply an excellent coop game. Whether with friends or matchmaking, it is very enjoyable.

The voicelines of the dwarves are hilarious, and the gunplay is smooth. There is a slew of customization options so that you can make your dwarf as ridiculous as possible (because honestly, why wouldn't you?).

The voxel terrain poses a unique challenge and also allows for new pathways to be opened up as needed. Is there a huge chasm and the gunner used all of his ziplines? Just dig yourself a tunnel along the wall! Conversely, you need to be careful that your grenades don't cause that tunnel to be difficult to traverse.

The game itself runs very smoothly, even through a Proton layer if you're playing on Linux.

Give this a try and you'll have a blast.

This is honestly one of the best games I've played. It's a super unique take on RTS and tower defense. Imagine fighting angry, destructive water.

Even after you beat the main story, there's a massive amount of content available, including beta tester levels, TWO different sectors with hundreds of levels, a random level generator, and custom game modes made by other players.

One of the best values I've ever seen in a game.

Personally I'm giving this game a tentative thumbs up and a 7/10. I'm having a blast, but it might be something you want to wait on.

The Good
  • The supply drop system is so much nicer, and it just allows you to play around with a lot of stuff.
  • The weapons are really fun and honestly hilarious. The railgun is my personal favorite.
  • The grapple is extremely smooth, and the new attachments for them are useful in a lot of ways, especially the balloons.
  • The game runs mostly smoothly on my mid-high end franken setup (GTX 1060 6GB, 12 GB DDR3 RAM, i7-930, an install that spans multiple hardware changes over 5 years, yes I know this is a bad idea and I'm upgrading soon), even when there's a lot of stuff happening.

The Bad
  • Dear Lord, the glitches. Pop-in is very noticeable, flickering and blurry textures, getting stuck under elevators, you name it. I hope that this is just a shaky launch and not something that will persist. EDIT: There are still glitches, but there are some performance improvements with the new patch.
  • The weaponized wingsuit you get with the deluxe and gold editions is pretty mediocre. You run out of your entire boost even if you tap the boost key, it charges extremely slowly and you can only use it when it's full, and the missiles it comes with can't hit the broad side of a barn. EDIT: They made the boost slightly better, as each boost segment charges seperately and at the same time now. However, even tapping the boost still gets rid of your entire meter.
  • The UI is pretty clunky, and it was obviously meant for consoles. Controller doesn't feel too great, though, as it feels sluggish. It might be a sensitivity issue and I just haven't looked into it, however. EDIT: Some slight changes with accessibility, but the glaring problem is still there.
  • Removal of settlement completion is a sad thing. The only reason to destroy red stuff now is to cause chaos to level up your chaos level. Things do respawn, though, if that's your thing.
  • There seems to be a problem with me being able to access the weapons and vehicles with the Deathstalker Scorpion pack, but I can access the skins. Buyer beware until it is fixed. EDIT: The DLC items are under different names. For future reference, the Neon Racer is Espinosa's Verdeleon, the Renegade Drone Rifle is the Bullshark Assault Rifle, and the Scorpion Explosive Rifle, Scorpion Assault Buggy, and Scorpion Muscle Car are the Signature Rifle, Weaponized Vagabundo, and Rico's Custom Mambo S respectively.

Minor Things
  • The forklift isn't functional. Sure, the arm moves up and down, but the forks themselves have no collision, so you can't actually pick anything up with them. I hope that this is unintentional, because I wanted to go on a forklift rampage. EDIT: The forklift's forks have collision now! Forklift rampage, go!
  • The way that you unlock new items to drop is okay, and it is a step down from JC3's way of unlocking things, in my opinion. I don't think it's horrible, though.

The tutorial is pretty lengthy, so if you plan on trying and refunding, watch gameplay videos first so you can have a look at features that get unlocked later.

Although this game does have a fair amount of technical issues (that can mostly be solved using the FAR mod), I fell in love with this game. The atmosphere is excellent, the combat is fluid and exciting, and the story is incredible.

The C path all the way to Ending E made me cry a lot.

Overall I'd give this a 9.5/10.

TL;DR: If you're looking for a game that's similar to the older Delta Force games, look elsewhere. This game had almost everything that made Delta Force what it was stripped out of it.

I grew up with the Delta Force games, more specifically Delta Force 2 and Delta Force: Land Warrior. I played those games very often, and I liked the semi-realistic fighting involved. You had to choose your loadout and your playstyle. Did you go with a silenced small weapon and sneak into the objective, or did you grab a sniper rifle and pick off targets before moving in? Combined with this and the fact that you only could take a few shots before you died (no checkpoints here), Delta Force was a beast of its own, and it took a completely different approach than the Quake-like FPSs so prevalent in those days. Delta Force: Xtreme, however, took this formula and turned it on its head.

Here are some of my grievances:

  • To start out with, you are limited to only choosing your primary and secondary weapons, and you have a very limited selection. Do you want to be a sniper? Here, have a selection of ONE sniper rifle. The extensive customization of your loadout is completely absent from Xtreme.

  • Drivable vehicles are in the game now, which seems like a nice idea. However, the controls are extremely floaty, making the vehicles very difficult to control.

  • The entire experience does not feel realistic at all. You can take multiple shots before dying, and you can pick up ammo packs and health in buildings. If you die, you respawn where you started with your mission progress saved, making you trek all the way back to your objective. This is especially egregious when you die and you're meant to use a vehicle to get to your objective. The game doesn't respawn a vehicle for you to drive, making you go in on foot. I wouldn't mind the respawn mechanic if it was actually complete.

  • This is a small thing, but it still irks me. In older Delta Force games, I had a habit of keeping the objectives list open, as it was small and it neatly fit into the corner. The objective list in Xtreme is needlessly gigantic, and leaving it open obstructs your vision.

  • The price for a title of this quality is extremely high. I would expect to pay a maximum of $10 for this, especially considering how old it is. It is twice that price. There are more recent, higher quality games for the same price.

To conclude, this game should only be bought if you really want to own all of the Delta Force games, and only if it is heavily discounted. Look elsewhere for your military FPS needs.

Seriously a masterpiece. The story is absolutely engrossing, and I cried. I cried a lot.

Play this game. You will not regret it.

A solid classic. Although it's over 11 years old, it features unique gameplay and massive environments. If you have $10 to spare, I highly recommend giving this a try.

A very fun game. You can do ANYTHING, and if you become bored with the default stuff, you can download extra stuff. There are also other gamemodes like Spacebuild, Trouble in Terrorist Town, Roleplay, Prop Hunt, and more. This game is a VERY good investment.
