Emily Is Away is a nostalgia-driven aesthetic experience of miserable young millennials, for miserable young millennials. Walk into it aware it's not really a choices-matter game; they do only superficially, as we do with the good part of a memory. And it kind of drives the point home: the good ol' days were not that good after all. High fidelity friendship-gone-awry simulator here. For its cost, it certainly deserves to be played once. Or twice, if you are really mad at the previous ending.
