This is truly something special. I've played the other popular 'choices matter' game, Life is Strange, and there is no comparison to how much more depth there is in Detroit: Become Human. Not to mention that the writing is significantly better and the game play is much less tedious.

Don't let me mislead you, this game is not for everyone; it is very slow paced and more about the story than it is the gameplay. With that said, if you understand what you're getting into, this game is an amazing execution of the cinematic choices matter genre.

One other note I want to make, the amount of content is dumbfounding when you consider what it must take to make a game like this. I spent about 12 hours playing the game to make it through the entire story with all 3 characters alive. But looking at the flowchart, it's hard to wrap my head around how much content I still haven't seen. I hope to pick this back up some time in the future and play the characters in a totally different style.

A brilliant game series with very talented devs ... being run into the ground by horrible management.

Hardware

RTX 3080 FE + Valve Index (97% of my playtime is not in VR)

Level Design

To me, one of the biggest draws of Hitman is the level design; particularly their ability to really capture/create an atmosphere, and their attention to tiny details. I have hundreds of hours into the Hitman trilogy and this is definitely the weakest in the series, specifically in creating strong feelings of being in different atmospheres.. The levels are not as memorable as the stand outs of previous games and the they are also noticeably smaller. The did, however, do a good job of building levels more vertically after we all saw how well that worked in the masterpiece from Hitman 2, The Isle of Sgail.

The Story

I was satisfied with the story. They did a good job wrapping the trilogy up. They also had an element to the story line that really kept me guessing as to what was going on with a main character, and I really enjoyed that.

VR

The VR is so bad it's astounding that they even put it in the game. I came into this game thinking it couldn't be as bad as everyone was saying, and planned to play each level in VR at least once, but I couldn't even make it through the first level. The controls would be considered bad for a game that came out 5 years ago, and that's before you take into account all of the glitches will frequently have you failing missions.

Do I Recommend This Game?

If you're craving more Hitman, it's an obvious choice to play this game. It's still Hitman and you'll mostly get what you expect out of it. That said, the quality of their games are trending downwards and the questionable choices from management have me worried about the future of the Hitman universe. Time will tell how much more of this game we'll be able to enjoy as they continue to make decisions that seem more focused on the short term.

As a huge Portal fan and a VR fan, and a large advocate of nearly every Portal mod I've played (Mel, Aperture Tag, Reloaded, Playing with Time Machines, etc...) I hate to give a poor review to a labor of love project like this. It was just so under-stimulating and there wasn't much to it. There weren't really any puzzles to do besides basic tutorial-tier 'puzzles.'

The only thing I would recommend this for is if you really want to experience the presence of standing in Aperture Labs in VR. That part of the experience was neat, but everything else fell far short of expectations.

A masterpiece of a game. Which isn't to say it's the best game ever, but for what it is they executed perfectly. This is a very chill game, that in an abstract way, reminds me of the original Skate game; it's all about that satisfying feeling of nailing a super smooth line.

I'm midway through the game and it's already been a transformative gaming experience. I don't think I've felt this in gaming since I first played Fallout 3, which was my first 3d open world RPG.

If you own a VR headset, this game should definitely be on your list of games to play. The one reason I would say to not buy it is if you do really bad with horror content. This game gets pretty spooky at times, but it never pushes it to the level of a true horror game.

This game lived up to the hype. As others have said, my biggest complaint is that it isn't longer, but at the same time, it seems like there wouldn't be a ton more you could do with the narrow mechanics introduced in this game. Another small gripe is that the story feels a little *too* influenced by Portal. You're being taken advantage of by some kind of AI system that is trying to keep you trapped inside it's facilities as a test subject and also the only human on the premises.

That said, the game mechanics were great, the writing and humor was solid, and it was great to be able to get a great experience with only a 1 hour investment of time.

I've been a fan of the Splinter Cell series since the original game way back in the day. The Splinter Cell series has always been quite clunky. This game really fixed that. The movement is all very fluent and smooth. I tried revisiting older Splinter Cell games a few months ago and found them to be unplayable due to the clunkyness, but Blacklist stands as one of my favorite titles and a game I still love coming back to despite beating every mission several times on console, and now on PC.

This was an incredible experience. I really liked that you're just dropped into the game with absolutely no direction and you just try to figure out what the game is about as you go.

I've spent the past 6 months trying to forget it all so I can play it again some day. @Dev make more puzzle games like this or an Antichamber 2.

Incredible game with a very dedicated Dev; he's always working on the game implementing new features and making various other improvements.

This game is tons of fun and a very fresh take on the generally dry genre of online FPS.

Check out the TotalBiscuit review on youtube for a more in depth look at the game.

I'd also like to address the negative reviews stating there is no one online. As of now (01/12/16) I have never had a probelm finding people online. The population is quite small, but I've always been able to find active games. I even played the other day at 7 am and, while numbers were certainly light, there were still a few people playing online.
