Was looking for a free MMO since I can't afford WoW right now, and stumbled across Neverwinter. I've played Neverwinter Nights before, but had no idea they had an ongoing MMO. I figured it would probably be super dead with a sparce population, but I booted it up anyways to try it out- and I was surprised. There's a tiny (700ish Steam players per day) but devoted following and everybody is so NICE. There's not really a lot of work around or diverse gameplay (Go here, kill that, come back, go there, kill that, come back, repeat), but it has a unique charm to it. There are microtransactions that are necessary if you want to speed run to end-game content, but for people like myself who enjoy grindy games, its really not that bad.
It's pretty simple, but they're still pushing out new content and you always run into multiple players in every little area, BUT there is a pretty straight path from beginning to end- No real choosing of paths, or higher RPG elements. It's fun for what it is, and I'm enjoying the time spent, but it's probably not something I'll be playing 5 years from now.

Edit: Seems like the majority of players are probably aged 55+ as well, I've seen a lot of jokes about democrats and "The Gays", lmao, so just something to be mindful of if you fit either demographic.
