Very satisfying little gameplay loop. I sat down to check it out and an hour had passed before I even realized it. You're put directly into the game and at first it was a little odd not having any music, but it's very relaxing with all the ocean noises and sound effects. I grew to appreciate the fact it didn't have music.

The game does launch full screen and I saw no option to make it windowed. My tv was screen tearing a bit. It would be nice to have a windowed option and vsync toggle. Other than that, a pleasant and satisfying little game. Thanks so much for allowing me the pleasure of it!

This game has been a blast overall. Even in 2024, it still holds up pretty well graphics wise, especially compared with the original. It does have its fair share of bugs, such as making my pc shut down in later levels (I was concerned, but it only happens with this game and there are posts from other people who have seen that issue.) While the Xen levels are beautiful, I agree with others that those levels and puzzles drug on for far too long. They could have shaved a couple hours off from that. Overall, still recommended over the Half-Life Anniversary edition if you care about updated graphics and audio fidelity.

Seriously, as I write this I've put in about 481 hours playing this like it's a single player elder scrolls game. I've still only touched the surface of what the game has to offer.

This game has come a long way since launch. If you like ESO, and you like Fallout, you'll probably like this game now since the Wastelanders update. The hardcore OG Fallout people that want another single player game may still not be happy though (I respect that, just know that this isn't it). I'm hooked, and folks can trash me if they want but I went ahead a paid for fallout first as well. So you get about $16 or so worth of Atoms alone for the $13 a month. But you also get a survival tent you can plop down anywhere and dump your scrap (scrap is the only thing you have to worry about losing when you die btw). That alone with the private server session (with up to 7 other friends if I want) combined with the latest update has me really enjoying it. With fallout first it feels much more like another Fallout game with the addition of coop with friends and not having to worry about trolls. Overall the Fallout 76 community that has stuck by the game has proven to be full of amazing and helpful people. Edit: Nov 2023 still totally worth it.

Yes. Finally. Glad they've stuck with it and shaped things up.
