Early Access Review
1) I sorely miss the gritty/grainy graphics from the original game. It was still one of the more beautiful games despite it's age.
2) I'm uncertain what the USP of this game is. I don't mind solo games at all, but after about an hour, I would raher replay the Titanfall 2 campaign. There is nothing wrong with the narrator voice atleast but after 3 missions, I don't know if I can be bothered.

Thanks for the effort though. I have been looking forward to a reboot of Hawken, but this was not it.

Not a filler while waiting for Homeworld 3, but a great stand alone title with an imaginative take on gameplay, visuals and sound. Love it so far.

Gives me my Diablo fix, but in the 40K universe, which I prefer.

Needing a Rimworld fix but also something that is visually appealing? This might do the trick. Also you get to release as much CO2 you wish, without offending the offendable ;)

Fun, fast, social and enigmatic. Everything done just right from a game design perspective. It has good shooting, excellent melee and the movement schemes are unparallel. An odd bird when I first tried it in early beta - a game like no other, a puzzle to figure out what it was all about. This game has matured a lot. Still a puzzle to figure out sometimes; what the next step is. Where do I go from here? Thankfully the other players, clans, WIKIs and Youtube channels can help you out.
The game I keep coming back to. Again and again.

I have been longing for a Harrier sim/game (sim preferably) for twenty years or more. This is in no way a finished sim/game but I believe that it has potential. If you believe in backing games and have the money; do it. If not; wait till it's done.

Having played a lot of Homeworld with its finelly tuned control scheme, H:DoK control scheme surely is not. Right clicking puts the mouse in view mode rather than interpreting it as a move order. Control-dragging often results in a selection rather than an attack box. The alt-click and alt-drag to focus from HW is sorely missed, instead click F to focus on selected unit(s) together with a hit-and-miss selection function (it is more difficult to select units than one should expect from an RTS.

- Story is fine so far.

- Graphics (except the lo-res stuttering cut scenes used sometimes instead of game engine cutscenes) is what I expected and wanted from the HW devs and art directors.

- Sounds and music are as good as HW.

- Controls are so irky, quirky and sub par, I don't want to ruin my experience by continuing until the game has been patched. I hope it's not a Unity engine issue but only an unfinished, untuned release.

In the state the game is now and for the current asking price I unfortunately cannot recommend the game. I got everything I expected except from the control scheme that is neither up to HW nor RTS standards.

Will come back after a patch or two though and promise to change my No to a Yes. I wan't to believe ;)

Good driving, fairly challenging combat, base building. Storyline and sidemissions are well written and mostly good voice acting. The side kick is a hoot!

I haven't been this scared and awed by a game for a very long time. I believe it was System Shock 2 and Space Hulk (the Amiga version) before this. The graphics and atmosphere and sound designs are stunning. Not lacking in the story department either.

In this state it feels a bit unpolished, quirky controls, movement and weapon handling. Probably want to follow the footsteps of WoT and its ilks with payment module but I can't see the point. There are more non-linear shooters (e.g Insurgency) that does a much better job.
