i shall defend my house

horrible community, will start rage quitting the moment their team starts losing even though which team wins or loses has no effect on the gameplay. with the losing team gone from 30 people to 10 people in a matter of minutes the whole match is ruined until the server repopulates and the map changes. people will start spamming insults in chat both because they are winning and because they are losing. so insults will fly regardless.
apart from that its an arcade shooter that's as inoffensive to the console market as possible. the space on your screen will mostly be taken by hit markers, bing bing wahoo power ups, and post processing + camera lens effects. fun and great that the servers are alive but the people that still play it are not fun or great. maybe it was better in 2016

this story is a wattpad tier fan fiction for half life. the main character is a tough guy isekai'd into the half life universe and he is so badass but soft in the inside with a tragic backstory. he kills without impunity but would do anything to protect his hypothetical daughter that we never see (omg i love an evil man who treats only me like a princess but kills everyone else for looking at him funny). there is even a gay coded non-human fantasy sci-fi (le science!) creature that is enamoured with the human gary stu self insert of a main character. all your fellow metro cops (most of whom sound and talk like a modern zoomer off the high school hallway and some are even female) are tsundere about you and secretly want your ♥♥♥♥. you have an evil punished twin brother shadow version of you who is even more emo, sir we can't contain him!. the post processing effects are cold and dark like the developers soul.

i wonder if it will take until the 3rd game until some gacha club kid makes a fan animation of this where she romances the main character, or for someone to create an even more bad boy AU version (like mein wholesome undertale) for all to touch their clit to.

Got it on sale. Installed. Woman teaches me how to shoot. Village needs help from gang. See gang member. Shoot him in the face at PBR. He says "ouch" & starts to run. I shoot him again. He starts shooting back. After 8 more rounds in him his body explodes.

Sigh.

People say you get picked off from long distances constantly, but its not like that when you know the maps. Those reviews about constantly dying is literally because they have no map knowledge, not because every regular that plays this game is perfect at it. When you play a map for the second time you can regularly get positive K/D in a server with no bots.

Also, with people calling this game a "PTSD simulator", others are going to think its a janky gimmick game. Its just a great game with atmosphere focus, and its as jankless as the popular Source engine games. With a lot of gore/explosions. PC focus controls like "Q" and "E" to lean left and right, "6" to change the barrel in a MG34/MG42 (deploy them first), 6 for selecting semi auto in some full auto guns.

You should put your "music volume" in the sound options to a similar level as your sound effects volume. The game has a morale system that doesn't affect the gameplay, but i missed it because i had the music volume very low like i do with all games. The music dynamically changes according to your teams morale, apart from this the changes are to your HUD injury screen (your soldier gets sadder or happier), and the characters voice lines. You should also enable "native voicelines" in the options because they have better voice acting and fit the game much better.
