Was hoping for a visual upgrade to a great sim, DR1, maybe with some improved tarmac handling (This is one of the few improvements) . Instead Codemasters went back in a lot of ways.

Constant connection to racenet? Not very much of a problem, or at least wouldn't be if it didn't spend 2 mins connecting when you launch the game, plus a minute before each stage.
Car market? Why make us buy used cars, why not have all the cars available at the same time? Because they can.
Restarts? I get this is meant to be a hardcore racing sim, but PLEASE let us have unlimited restarts in each stage like DR1, subtracting from a bonus.
Calls? Very hit or miss, often very early or very late
Price? Would certainly not pay full price for this. Would consider if all DLC was included, but alas it isn't. Who doesn't like microtransactions!
Rain driving? Makes the track feel like sheer ice, especially on some of the gravel tracks. AI seems to set incredible times like they are driving on a dry track despite this...

Would not recommend the game in its current state at full price. (But if its over 50% off, go for it)

Amazing, best open world game available at the moment.

One of the best games on Steam for a long time, and super affordable too. Only critisism is that the ammount of worlds are currently lmited, but with weekly updates this shouldn't be a problem. 10/10.
