Great game to play with friends. Near constant chaotic action! The weapons and stratagems feel great to use and deploy, making you feel truly powerful against the enemies of Liberty.

Unfortunately while Sony *did* retract the hard PSN requirement, after walking this back, they forcibly made the game unavailable in every region that doesn't have PSN
Tinfoil hat time: Could possible be an Omen that they're just walking this back temporarily

The fact this is still for sale on steam is a joke. Thought I'd check out the online mode again after it got Labour of love -_- Boy was that a mistake. Downloaded a whole 130+ gigabytes just to load into a borderline dead game. No new content since I last played, crashed trying to claim rewards, crashed after finding 7 trains stuck on the track together, crashed after skinning a deer, crashed after shooting a deer. Game's about as stable as Pengő in 1945. Don't get this unless they fix it!

Brilliant horde shooter with swarms of big nasty bugs, mugs of ale a'plenty, enough beard to make a viking jealous, 4 classes with their own arsenals of devastating weaponry, big dark caverns to plunder of their goodies and saving the best for last; Drinking on the job!

Ghost Ship Games is honestly too good to be true. Free content updates with free battle passes, with past seasonal loot returned to the general loot pool so you'll never miss a thing. Truly not the developers we deserve, but the ones we need in this trying time.

Rock and Stone!

Used to play this thing a bunch, but ever since the Activision split, it's been one bad decision after another. The original game content was vaulted (removed) and the game made 'free to play'.

The free to play tag here is the biggest lie there is. Around 75% of the game is locked behind these DLCs that are ludicrously expensive. Not to mention the new paid event passes, battle passes and content keys.

For example:
Dungeons used to be season content, but now requires Special dlc editions or overpriced dungeon keys.
Seasonal content used to be improved with the season pass, now it's required to even access it.
Events used to offer a wide array of themed cosmetics for playing, but now provides the chance to purchase them separately for silver (Premium currency).
Many abilities and weapons are locked behind dlc, some of which are incredibly strong and often recommended to partake in higher difficulty activities.
This often results in Seasonal challenges being unobtainable as the dlc is required to access the content relating to the challenge.

It really is a shame as the story was good, I really enjoyed it when it was there, but now? You're jumping in mid-story with little context as to what happened prior, bar 6-7 sentences telling you the tl/dr version of those events.

Seasonal content usually carries on the story, and thus without it, you're left pretty unaware of some crucial plot points. This wouldn't be an issue, but every major dlc release, these seasonal activities and stories are also vaulted, leaving you with a few sentences summing up the bare minimum of that line of content.

The pvp scene is a mess with dlc weapons primarily dominating, the stasis class proving far superior to the others. With the dwindling player numbers too, it's hard to justify playing pvp knowing you'll most likely come across the same experienced players time and again.

Overall? I'd say this game needs some massive changes in order to justify giving you its time. The recent seasonal content has been dull, bland and repetitive. The stories mediocre. Asset recycling in abundance (Some of which is from the old removed content) and generally, is not worth the time or money. However, ironically enough, the paid cosmetic storefront has been receiving frequent and higher quality updates than most other things in the game. They don't care about the player-base, they care about their wallets.

TL/DR: This game is a money grab at this point. Low quality content pushed out slowly with a big focus on leeching as much as they can from your pockets. Heavy emphasis on FOMO with limited time seasonal rewards and content.

Can't recommend this in the state it's in.

Game still has its fair share of bugs and quirks, but after the time poured into it by CDPR, i can honestly say it was really enjoyable to play through the storyline of this game.

The combat can be a little clunky, especially when things don't work as intended, but overall is in a decent state for the most part.

Other than the few graphical bugs and animation glitches, the game looks great too

Cool RPG, been enjoying my play through as the victim. 10/10, would sell my soul to be good at this game again

Really though, if quick thinking and good reaction times aren't in your skill set you're gonna struggle with this game. Memorising attack patterns and noticing telegraphs are vital to doing well in this game. If you ain't got the time or patience for that, I'd steer clear. Otherwise, a great game. World building, storytelling and visuals are all fantastic.

Without mods, the multiplayer is very tedious, with invasions and borders present all over. If you intend to play with friends, research the multiplayer mod first.

Good game with lots of replay-ability, however, due to the lack of support from the studio, you'll need to rely on the support of a few mods for fixes here and there.

Love this game, Hands down my favourite colony sim.

Simplistic visuals might put you off at first, but the sheer amount of replay-ability is astonishing.

For one, you can play however you like, whether it be a trade oriented colony, a band of bloodthirsty raiders, or some cave dwelling cannibals that ambush passing traders for food.

With the DLC additions, you have even more customisation, offering you the chance to make every play though truly unique from religious worship, food preference or even general ideology.

With all the good, it does have some drawbacks:
- The UI can take a while to get to grips with, meaning you'll have to devote some time to learning how and where to use certain tabs
- The game-play and building has a lot of intricacies, often leading to confusion and frustration early on, but like the UI, with enough practice, you'll learn how to get it right eventually.

Ultimately, the main gripe is the learning curve being very steep in the beginning. However, it is definitely worth figuring out the UI and how to manage your colony efficiently.

If you're a fan of colony sims, this is for sure one of the best. Would highly recommend.
