Early Access Review
IG 4.0 has the potential to be a great economic simulation, but its technical issues, steep learning curve, lack of clarity, and fragmented UI hold it back here and there.
If you're a dedicated fan of the genre willing to persevere, you'll find a rewarding experience. However, those seeking a more polished and accessible game may want to wait for further development.

Halls of Torment takes the addictive horde survival gameplay popularized by titles like Vampire Survivors and throws in a hefty dose of classic dungeon crawler charm. With its striking pre-rendered visuals reminiscent of Diablo and a deep well of character customization, it's a game that will keep you hooked for hours on end.

What makes it shine:
  • Nostalgic Presentation: The game's art style is a love letter to late 90s RPGs, with detailed environments and character sprites that ooze atmosphere.
  • Engaging Progression: The quest-based meta progression system gives you a clear sense of purpose and long-term goals to chase.
  • Challenging and Varied Content: Multiple underground worlds, each with their own distinct atmosphere and enemy types, keep the experience fresh. The diverse bosses with unique attack patterns provide thrilling encounters that demand strategy and skill.
  • Meaningful Customization: The ability to send items to the overworld and craft magical tinctures adds another layer of depth to customizing your runs.

Potential Drawbacks:
  • Repetitive Core Loop: Like many games in the genre, the core gameplay loop can become repetitive after extended sessions.

    Overall:
HoT is a fantastic addition to the horde survival genre. It successfully blends the addictive gameplay of its contemporaries with the nostalgic charm and depth of classic dungeon crawlers. With its satisfying progression systems, diverse content, and endless build possibilities, Halls of Torment is a must-play for fans of action RPGs and anyone looking for a challenging and rewarding roguelite experience.

Lots of fun to be found in HoT already. Had a good time so far with what is in the prelude version.
Keep up the good work, looking forward to what you have in store for the full release :)

Perish is great fun for what it is and it's exactly what the description states. However, some other reviews have some good feedback, which I'm sure the devs are going to take a look at it once the release stress settles.

Visuallly it's something different and stands out from current shooter crowd, the gameplay is solid and it comes with an amazing soundtrack!
Given that this co-op shooter has been developed by a very small team, this is almost a benchmark what 2-3 developers can do in a limited time (given that they've worked with a publisher on this).

According to the game description, there's going to be some more stuff in the future and seeing how active the developers are here on Steam (adding to the demo while it was up, and currently in the forum), I'm pretty sure quite some fixing and polishing will happen.
Anyway, I'm having a blast playing alone and with friends.

Great game with an oldschool arcadey vibe to it. Super challenging and very rewarding. Just get it and go for a ride

Old-school FPS in the spirit of games like Hexen.

If you're looking for something unique (with the possibilty to learn about WW1), look no further.
Gameplay feels a little clunky here and there, but all in all the presentation and atmosphere are on point.

Not played the endless mode yet, but I really liked the experience and the challenges during the story playthrough. Yes, it was short, but it was intense and I'm really glad that I supported this game on kickstarter.
Also it seems that there is additonal content planned for the following months and all in all it is worth supporting these devs, just to see what future projects might bring.

A really fun take on Tower Defense. Love the visuals and I hope for lots of new fun stuff during the Early Access. Still have to check out the multiplayer mode.
